For several days, my portable was blue screening with what appeared to be driver errors, but I had added no new drivers, the one that was pointed at was an old established item for which no new replacement existed… then I tried Verifier.exe to get to the bottom of the issue, big mistake! This ensured a rock solid inability to boot… I tried various ways to get into the thing but all to no avail. Finally it was time for a repair session with a nice shiny new USB download, so I got the machine back as a rock solid portable but with none of the functions and applications it used to have. An inventory of what was lost showed that most basic machine functions were put back, hopefully with safe stable drivers, so it has been time to re-install the wanted applications. So all looks stable and fully functioning once more, perhaps I should have sorted out a newer version of office than 2007 but he heck lets not go too mad.
Anyway all of that helped to cover off the time wondering and waiting for my wife to have her big operation which was timed for today. She came through fine, they cut the six hours that was planned by bringing in multiple teams of surgeons to work on different parts of the task at hand. Her history gave them all the willies with her allergies, anaphylaxis and rafts of other complications. We think that they wanted it all over and done as quickly as possible, though the recovery will still be an uncomfortably slow road to travel. Now we just hope that they were able to remove all of the cancer and avoid the complication of radio therapy on top of all the months of completed chemo therapy.

How you care for her is often more important than just caring – by that, I mean that the wife nearly drove me mad when looking after me when I was ill – she was so glad that I was still around I could do no wrong and could have whatever I wished for. That was fine for the first few days, but that novelty wore off very quickly. In a nutshell, care – don’t fuss!!
Good luck seems inadequate, but you’ll need a lot of it going forward.

The more you meet people the more you understand why Noah took animals instead of humans
