Some ‘helpful’ illegitimate has just published the source code for a Total Meltdown kernel bug that will enable any script kiddy to attack anyone who has not kept bang up to date on their Windows 7 patches. The attached ZDNet article will take you through the detail, but essentially if you ever patched Windows 7 this year make sure that you also updated to KB 4100480, 4093108, or have 4093118 installed,

My guess is this is aimed at larger companies who are often deliberately slow in applying patches, but it is a scatter-gun of malware that affects all 64bit win7 and Server 2008 R2 users.

Thanks again Ed, found and installed 2 of 3. Had to Search KB 4093108, which came out on April 10th whilst I was in hospital. So easy to miss some if one is not at the PC for a period.

          Cheers, Bob.
