Yes, it is possible. Using internet articles & Youtube I managed to installed Windows 11 on a Toshiba Satellite with an i3 M330 CPU & 4 GB RAM & no TPM.

The laptop OS is Windows 8.1. I originally tried in a VM but it failed several times so I partitioned the hard drive (250GB spinner) & did a fresh install. As the install wasn’t an upgrade it isn’t activated. It’s fairly slow to load, as is to be expected, but is just about usable for anything basic.

Just an experiment to see if I could manage it & to keep the brain ticking over. 🙂

I did a Windows 10 to Window 11 update to an old Toshiba a few months back. It updated normally this morning. The only issue is that after any update it always needs to be restarted twice because it loses the Ethernet access port. It was bought about 2013 so is well outside the welcomed range of models. It has matured over the past few months. Now is a bit more like Windows 10, but I am not ready to make the change to my main machine yet.

Well done on that wasbit. Must have been fun to. As for the TPM thing. With the latest AMD bios the fTPM has become a Trojan horse. Causing a stuttering as if hardware failure was imminent as was the case for me.

AMD released a work around/fix, until a new bios can be released next month. What they did not mention in their work around was to disable fTPM. Which works just fine. 🙂

Update. I only boot into Windows 11 (& Windows 10) whenever I remember so may be 2 or 3 weeks between each log in.

However after 2 days I noticed that Windows 11 had activated itself, presumably using the licence from Windows 8.1 on the other partition.

In my main desktop I have a second HDD with Windows 10. As the experiment with the satellite laptop went so well, I partitioned the Windows 10 drive & installed Windows 11. Same as before, no TPM, no internet connection during the install & a local account. After a couple of days Windows 11 self activated.

Seems like MS have made me a pirate.
