I am after a cheap comercial rig Dell Lenovo Compaq etc at least 4GB Ram Windows 7/10 2.5 – 3GHz Dual Core 2 Duo well the more the merrier.

It sounds good, It’s just that it doesn’t give exact specs just a quad and then single core.

If I have it thinking it’s a Q6600 and it comes as a single core they’re are covered.

on the page they are all Core 2 Duo even the said one with 8GB ram 1TB HDD

the 8 gb ram model has not got anything writen down for the cpu speed why is this and also what actualy is the speed of it?
Answer:
I bought one, though I hate Win 10 compared to Win 7, and the only answer I can give is that my spec says it is an Intel 2 Quad CPU Q8400 @ 2.66, 2.66.

The link says it has 4 cores, maybe not so bad lets hope it is the Q8400.

That’s a very old piece of kit now John. I would be worried about the hard drive, although at 1 TB it can’t be original (the 160GB probably are).

Don’t be fooled into thinking that as it’s a quad it’ll be fast. In single threaded performance it’s about half of a modern dual core Pentium. In needs all 4 cores to catch up with the Pentiums two cores for things like video transcoding.

Still, it’s only £85 ?

Get in touch with the seller, might be a genuine mistake.

If they act a bit arsey send it back, if not take a partial refund, more than enough to get the extra RAM.

Sys Info doesn’t say, according to SIV x64 it’s Running

Windows 10 x64 Professional Version 10.0 Build 16299

They have offered to send me more ram.

I note it has 1GB x 4 Single sticks in, not sure if there is another 4 slots though

They said (sorry) it should be 4 x 2GB sticks.

They are going to send me 2x4GB sticks, I don’t know if it will take them (at this stage) they must think so?
