What has happend to games sizes

Just installing GTA 5. So glad my rig still has a ROM drive. No less than 7 DVDs with compressed files with around 8GB per disc and after updates and final file size ??? GB I’m also installing Dirt 2.0 GOTY from the net. My connection is around 8.5 Mbps. File size 106 GB and its a 1.75 day down load. Just when you thought a 4TB drive was big enough. Meh!

If you want to try a (relatively) cheap but challenging game try the Indie-hit Valheim on Steam. Single player is possible but hard, you spend most of your time just trying to build a shelter and grubbing for food!

Some carp at its use of voxels, but I rather like the way they allow a procedural random open world to be generated with a small file size. The graphics may be a little blocky as a result but the textures are nice.

I’ve just checked my installation, and it’s 98.1GB!

I’ve got COD installed and that was over 150GB at last check. I’m currently running two 3TB drives in RAID 0 for storage space for games!

My internet speed isn’t the fastest, so downloading games can be a pain when I want to play, so I keep everything installed.

A good indie game i played a while back was: The Uncertain. The last quite day. Wacko camera angles help to make this Asimov reject.

I see AMD will be releasing the  RX6700XT V soon. One defo pretentious feature of the card is it will boost frame rates as high as possible when you are on your target in an FPS to give you the edge on a kill. Wet my self. Best latency fix is to use Riva Tuner: RTSS. exe.

@ Tippon and Drezha. Well the final size for Dirt 2.0 is 110GB. Pleased to report that the game is well optimized in its final patched state. Certainly does not pay to get the game on release day all bugged up like Colin McRea’s Fender. The game features a tribute game area for the bloke which is why I got the game.

Tip, if you do play Valheim in single player do not attempt to build shelter before crafting a hoe and using it to level the site of your shelter. If you don’t the hut will almost certainly collapse wasting time and energy, and probably result in yet another early death. (rinse and repeat)

It just so happens that at the mo as i post 4 of my steam buddies are playing the game. Valheim. We got Evak, film et nova, fredan.
