      Hi All.
RSB has recommended that I post a question out there on the Lenovo X200s Thinkpad. The reason for this is that my wife needs a device that is portable, compact and must have a keyboard. She’ll be using it for a little web searching and basic computing I.e. updating her own website.
Anyway back to my post. A full size Laptop will be too bulky to use in the spaces she occupies , therefor needs to be compact I.e. screen around 12″. I’ve seen a Lenovo device on ebay starting bid £35 which fits the budget as I’m looking for a used device.

If anyone has any feedback on the Lenovo X200s Thinkpad or similar I would greatly appreciate it.

      Many thanks

      Martin

        I have an i5 X220 with 8GB RAM and a 240GB SSD, great machine.

If the one you’re looking at doesn’t have an SSD that would be a cheap upgrade, there’s a thread here.

Lots of them knocking about so getting one for a good price shouldn’t be too difficult.

I too have ab i5 X220. Upgraded from my c2d X200t. Very good machine, especially given I paid 130 for the X220 (minus the ssd I put in it) . Doesnt quite match the quality of the X200t but neither did the price tag.

We’ve got an X220 here (with SSD upgrade) – still a great machine, and I have an X201 (SSD upgrade) that I leave at my mums. The X201 (guessing close to the 200) is absolutely fine for web and office use. The screen is a little more square than the X220, performance on paper not as good but in practice you can’t tell the difference forr normal stuff – all very quick. Typing on them i is a treat – fantastic keyboards. They are getting older though and so you should factor that in to what you are prepared to pay.

Deleted – my previous response wasn’t relevant.

My wife has similar requirements and a similarly sized Lenono (a MX11), screen usage/keyboard are not an issue but with hindsight she would have been better off with a X200 as she still is not comfortable with a touch-screen only device.
