Many use a virtualbox vm as a first line of a layered defence. Unfortunately the zero day revealed by MorteNoir in this Github blog shoots an artillery shell through that mode of operation. He gives a work-around in the blog and I suggest you study whether you should adopt it.

I’ve moved all my “production” VMs onto a local ESXi server or into the cloud. Only use VB for a look at new things.

I never use NAT, so guess I’m reasonably safe.

Arch Linux, on a Ryzen 7 1800X, 32 GB, 5 (yes -5) HDs inc 5 SSDs, 4 RPi 3Bs + 1 RPi 4B - one as an NFS server with two more drives, PiHole (shut yours), Plex server, cloud server, and other random Pi stuff. Nice CoolerMaster case, 2 x NV GTX 1070 8GB, and a whopping 32" AOC 1440P monitor.
