I just got me a new dog and bone.

I got it second hand off music magpie and its an LG G6.

There is no bloat wear on it and I do not know which carrier it supports.

But more importantly do you know how to unlock said phone for free?

I have looked at a couple of U Tube vids but they are catchy!

I just bung your SIM in and see if it works. There’s a good chance it’s network unlocked unless it was stated as EE/Vodafone/ whatever.

If you need the bands supported bung the model number (from About Phone, in the settings) into google with ‘supported bands’ after it. That should work.

I just bagged myself a Galaxy S21 Ultra (16GB RAM/512GB storage) from CEX. As new not a mark on it, £820. Some real bargains out there if you dig deep enough.

              Try ebay.

I used to get unlock codes of there a few years back for a £ or 2.  Use the model number from the settings and ‘network unlock code’. If you don’t know the network it’s locked to you might have problems. Often you need that to generate the right code.

Might be easier to send it back and get an unlocked one?

Well the phone has had to go back. We tried every sim we could get our hands on and it would not work( inc all networks).

So, like you say some fantastic bargains out there so I took a leaf out of your book and got a Samsung Galaxy s9.

It arrived as new and set me back £168.

The headphone jack, extra storage and the killer hifi audio was main reason I got it.

Got it off Back Market. Whom I never heard of. I just stumbled across the site. Great service when I thought I was taking a gamble with a pig in a poke.

I almost bought from Back Market but they didn’t have the exact model I was after. Prices did look good though.
