UK Government Role for Pornhub!

Admittedly I have used ‘political license’ in my forum title, but it looks as though the owners of Pornhub will become the company responsible for keeping records and verifying that p0rn users are over the age of 18.

I always knew that this Government was a bunch of liars and shady characters, now I can add pornographers to that list!

The link itself cites ” Daniel Cooper Engadget 23 November 2017″. I have no idea where the journo obtained his info. I’m also sorry that I cannot remember how I happened across the info.

It is going to be interesting, but whoever keeps the data had better have a secure system as it will not only have p0rn users but also those who watch Game of Thrones etc on Sky or most Channel 4 programs.

It is all typical ill-thought Government bureaucracy that achieves nothing. Savvy <18s will very quickly start using vpns and delve into the much more dangerous territories of the Dark Web, they will probably set up a thriving business of usb stick containing their more dangerous wares.

I also worry that this will quickly evolve into an extension of Cameron’s censorship plans, I’m sure the Government hates the fact that it is trivial to find out what the Beeb et al fail to report or more likely distort in line with Government diktat.

Many of them will be carrying out similar “research” in cheap, rented hotel rooms and internet cafes, now they know what happens if they ‘accidentally’ touch females (or males) in the corridors of power.

They don’t need to. It just took me about ten seconds to open a torrent site with a dedicated porn section. 25 torrents per page, and I clicked through to over 70 pages before I gave up on trying to find the end. This is a ‘normal’ video site that most people use for movies and TV. TPB has 30 items per page, but is loading too slowly for me to find out how many pages it has. There are 30 pages in the initial view.

Neither of these are specialist sites, or needed anything other than a browser to access.

As usual, the government are pissing in the wind and wasting our money.

Not wasting, it is a way of injecting Government money into the struggling UK p0rn and tech industries. ? It will be interesting to see the list of MPs who declare that they have an interst in MindGeek.
