I try do all my transactions either cheque or cash, but sometimes a card is necessary, so I have had one for about 40+ years. so infrequently do I use it that I have to write my PIN number on the back in code!

The bank I use (once Midland, I moved to TSB, they became Lloyds-TSB, now just Lloyds) has changed it from card to card, but currently it is a Trustcard. They have apparently been awarding me “Points” (as in prizes??) but that has just ended. It seems I have 2,756 of these mysterious points, and I either use them or lose them by 24th Jan.

Has anybody any idea how I use them, and what the hell are they worth that I can waste them on? They sometimes give suggested “spends”, but nothing of interest to me so far.

In the current “Final warning” letter they say that I can purchase vouchers at 10% discount, and cite Argos, Halfords and W H Smith. We only have the last of those three over here, but what on earth do I want from WHS?

They give an example, with 50 vouchers I can buy a £50 Argos voucher for £45, so if I spend £2,475 at Argos, I will have £2,750 to spend there!  Maybe the same at WHS?  —  WTF??????

Do I just forget about them, or does anybody have worthwhile suggestions?

Know you are not into 4 wheels Les, but I do recommend this from WHS (or anywhere else):

From the guy who has been designing F1 cars, for many different teams and companies, for 35 years. Engineering drawings and sketches throughout the book, stories about different drivers, 3 wives and a lot of humour. Doesn’t like Bernie Ecclestone and a few other F1 people, holds nothing back. A great read. Then there is this Lincolnshire lad:

Haven’t read it, hoping it’s in my stocking, dropped enough hints anyway. I’m biased, but Guy Martin is the most down-to-earth ‘celeb’ there is, probably never thinks of himself in those words, too busy having fun and breaking bits on 2 wheels or 4.

When the Thought Police arrive at your door, think -
        I'm out.
