Tingkering with forumite

If any one is browsing the site through the early hours dont panic, I am just fettling the website. It is or was looking really dull and has not had any house work done for yonks.

I am still tinkering but I believe I have fixed the password issue @edps

It appears to be the slide out login funtion that was causing the issue hence I removed it which I have been meaning to do for a while.

@sgb101 Do you still use that floating mobile menu I placed at the footer of the site for the mobile?

Did anyone use or look at the laterst replies in the right sidebar?

Answers from me Lee:

*The sliding sidebar used to drive me crackers occasionally.Trying to do something near the LH side would inevitably slide it across. Won’t miss that, thanks.

*Noticed the password issue was gone from the tablet over brekkies this morning. Only had it on the tablet, not phone, laptop or desktop.

*Never looked at Latest Replies in the RH sidebar. I usually hover on “Forums” then click Latest Replies. But I always note Who’s Online at RH side. That’s useful: no good knocking on a door when you know no one is in!

*New Blue in Header is good. In fact the subtle colour changes are all good.

I took the Latest replies box into account, but rarely actually used it. Like Bob, the “Who’s Online” is more relevant.

Left sliding sidebar isn’t a problem for me, the only time I see it is when I scroll the mouse pointer across to my left hand monitor and if I’m slow, it pops out, but by that time the pointer is on my email page along with my attention.

Pleasant colour blue, doesn’t hurt the eyes or distract you from the printed word.

Yes the new blue is like an attractive frame around a really good painting: nice, but doesn’t detract from the picture or in this case, the text.

@bullstuff2 @jayceedee Nothing to report yet, just chilled tinkering here & there over the bank holiday and getting round to watching ITV’s Benidorm series 🙂 something I have not bothered with before. All in all not thinking about anything to much.

I have brightened the place up a bit and still some to do. There as been things about the place that has bugged me for yonks. The main menu is on the hit list. Needs tarting up and needs to be a bit more usefull.

@bdthree Whatever you’ve been doing has fixed the refreshing issue for me. Whenever I went either backwards or forwards to a page on the site, it would load then refresh almost immediately, but it’s not doing it now. I hadn’t realised how annoying it was until it was gone 🙂

Just one thing. If you try to add a new thread to an existing topic on an Android mobile, the box to put the subject in has gone ?
