        Live in hope, I suppose.

I stripped a similar system that my No.1 gson’s (barsteward) dad gave him to play with some years ago. I used the CD player in a rebuild for a mate, the rest went to WEE Heaven as I recall. It was Dinosaur doo-doo even then. This bloke is living an another planet.

I’ve still got the remains of my 486 SX25 floating around somewhere. I’ve been tempted for a while to rebuild it and play some DOS games 🙂

I’m just wondering whether he is selling as a piece of antique stuff – see below another guy selling a very old machine for £92.  Sorry but I do not know how to put the below as Boris did with ‘here’ on his opening post.

              https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/386-computer-Mi-BM-Windows-95-365mb-HDD/264010797562?_trkparms=aid%3D888007%26algo%3DDISC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140328180637%26meid%3D63c6429e2d83467b8ecc20fb60c5d094%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26sd%3D202490760621%26itm%3D264010797562&_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982

That said, probably in a 100 years they will be classed as valuable items of the early computer days and be displayed in science museums all over the world! Just the same as in 1000 years MFI / IKEA stuff will be seen as valuable antiques.?

On the ‘ribbon’ below the words Insert, Format,Tools you’ll see a paperclip icon. Highlight the word you want to use for the link, Copy the url ( the bit you’ve used in your post ) from the address bar of the webpage you’re linking to, click the paperclip icon and Paste into the box, then click the arrow to ‘apply’ the link to your post. ??

Ikea may be iconic/antique in years to come, but you’ll miss the best opportunity to utilise any MFI furniture if you don’t hurry up and build that bonfire soon……………!!???

                  Dave,

The “winner” on that item has only a 1 for feedback -I surmise that he is a malicious bidder – who won’t pay up ?

No need for the extra power usage. Either install Dosbox or set up a VM Dos box using FreeDos. I bought a USB floppy drive from Amazon and then used Winimage to make mountable dos images of the old disks.

I did also notice a sale of an Amiga 500 for £1,000. In reality, they’d have to consider themselves lucky to get £10.

Arch Linux, on a Ryzen 7 1800X, 32 GB, 5 (yes -5) HDs inc 5 SSDs, 4 RPi 3Bs + 1 RPi 4B - one as an NFS server with two more drives, PiHole (shut yours), Plex server, cloud server, and other random Pi stuff. Nice CoolerMaster case, 2 x NV GTX 1070 8GB, and a whopping 32" AOC 1440P monitor.

The challenge of getting old floppies to read, and run in a vm. Also by making iso copies of the floppies you are preserving them for the future.
