What I have done is look at past donations and tried to come to average figures.

£4.50 P/M

There will be lower cost options for those who post once in a blue moon.

The forum remains free to browse for those on lookers.

Anyhow I have created a new poll to take opinions.

I’ll be putting this all in place Sunday Night.

I’m not in favour of monthly subs being the only manner in which to pay.    I would much prefer a yearly sub or perhaps both options (i.e. monthly or yearly).    I suspect some others may feel the same.   Horses for courses to allow folks to pay as their finances allow them to or in the manner they usually desire to work.

PS – I have not voted regarding the cost of subs.   Only you know what the forum is costing you financially.    That said, Lee, I would hope that when arriving at an amount for the subs you use the formula – Cost plus a few beers for you.    Because you deserve them for the hard work you put into keeping this going.

Cheers VFM. The issue is I dont know how many will sign up or move on so there is no way of caculating it but I believe arround £4.50 should be ok. I’ll review at a few months and see how things compare. I am just trying to keep it to a minimum plus options for on lookers  and once in a blue moon posters.

And P.S.S Don’t mention beers, I could kill for one now. And before you say “What, This time in the morning” I have been working on setting things up since before 12 last night on my test site, test forumite.

Re your last two posts, Lee – If even you can’t know for certain what amount will be needed (and I mean subs not beers…… LOL) then I have even less chance of knowing what amount will be right.

It occurs to me that if you think that you may need to review the cost of subs in a month or two then you’ll get in one heck of a mess with annual subscribers.    I therefore suggest that if anything you load the subs above that which you currently think you need (e.g. make it £5 a month) and you can always offer a discount to yearly subscribers at renewal time if it turns out you loaded it too heavily versus what turned out to be the actual need.    Hope I’ve explained that well enough.    Golden rule re human nature– Charge £5 a month or £60 per annum and if you later find you can drop it to less everyone feels happy.    Charge £4.50 a month or £54 pa and then very quickly increase it and the reverse of a happy feeling usually results.    I don’t think that would be the case in this forum given that most are understanding but one never really knows.

I can tell you exactly how much beer I need. If I am out on the town then arround ten real ales 🙂 But yes I know where your coming from.

I am still testing the process, it’s been a complete nightmare. I moved the test site to here.

Change of plan. I have shed loads to do Monday so my new plan providing I can test out the settings to my satisfaction on the test site I will be shutting the doors on forumite at 12 PM saturday afternoon and hopfully re-opening early ours Sunday morning. It’s usually quiet on Saturday afternoon plus the coronvirus news comes out in the morning so forumites will be able to have a quick natter before 12. Who knows, If all goes well it will be only a couple of hours but I am estimating early hours sunday just Incase.

If I had known it was going to be a quiet morning I would of done it today. Infact, as anyone got an issue with me starting at dinner time? That way I have a nice quiet weekend of fottball, beer and cat fights. In that order 🙂

I know but I am going for it. Give me a break at weekend ahead of a busy week next week. I have been on this near on 30 odd hours in two days. I’m knackered 🙂 Anyhow I am posting an other thread in a minute so please read.

Have not returned to this due to Moving arrangements taking up so much time, but just to say I was happy to take the Annual option and hope that I will still be on my perch and making  several more recurring payments.🙄😁
