Went to Porthcawl this morning to watch the high tide combined with Storm Francis.
I could hardly stand up. After 20 minutes I was exhausted. Worth it though.

The lighthouse is 30 foot tall. Not even the biggest wave to break but it’s over so fast.
August 25, 2020 at 8:15 pm #61618Great picture. Plenty artisitc merit. I took a good one the other day.
August 25, 2020 at 8:46 pm #61621Thanks Keith, took literally hundreds of photos, 4K burst mode is very handy on the Panasonic cameras.
Yours is very nice . :good:
August 26, 2020 at 10:16 am #61627Yeah, sadley the forum does not have the capability to do our photos true justice. But no matter.
August 26, 2020 at 1:23 pm #61631Bedruthan Steps (between Padstow and Newquay) in March. Almost got blown off my feet.
August 28, 2020 at 4:30 pm #61663Sometimes mobile cameras are too clever by half. The attached reduced-res image of Telscombe Cliffs near Newhaven was taken today on my old WileyFox Swift. As you can guess the mark-one eyeball image was completely burnt out by the sun and the sea-cliff-sky-clouds contrast was stunning. Unfortunately the camera was too clever in its settings and adjusted it all down to a ‘nice snap’!
August 28, 2020 at 5:26 pm #61665I went up The Bwlch this morning, not been up there for decades.

The roads are amazing, almost as good as the view, great fun in my little car.

August 28, 2020 at 10:29 pm #61671Oh yeh. It rained a bit yesterday 🤣
August 28, 2020 at 11:05 pm #61673It rained a LOT today here – thunder and lightning for about three hours earlier – impressive, but put a real downer on the day. :negative:
August 29, 2020 at 8:08 am #61676Thanks for the adjustment Dave. Maybe I need a better phone with HDR, however shooting into the sun while using an LCD screen is a huge guessing game.
August 29, 2020 at 9:55 am #61679I tend to run my photos through either MS Photos and / or google photos, it can sort out a lot of exposure issues.
In this case it’s also had one of the blue filters applied as well.
August 29, 2020 at 11:39 am #61684Paint.Net is also a good program for quick and dirty adjustments. Its auto-adjust is good, but for this photo I found the levels and saturation adjustments did the best job of bringing the image closer to the high-key image of my memory.
