April 19, 2017 at 11:08 am #6433Search rarely finds anything.
“MTB” search yields no results. It exists though: https://forumite.co.uk/forums/topic/new-mtb-thread/
“Election” and “Mines” (Mine’s) are the same despite being in the top ten of latest activity and being next to the search box.

As soon as the letters are typed into the bar, a revolving arrow starts and the the dialogue drop box opens below the green bar without even clicking the magnifying glass or hitting enter.
Possibly something at your end??
Edit – including the punctuation marks around mtb – “mtb” locates just your post above.
April 19, 2017 at 2:25 pm #6443The problem is when people hit the return button or search icon it goes off and searches the blog posts of the site. When searching, the drop down list is the forum results. I have now disabled this behavior and you should only get forum results now and hitting return will only display the drop down results if it does not automatically do so.
The search setting in the back-end are complex to say the least and I don’t fully understand all the fiddly bits yet. As with a few things when building this place I have to learn by doing and this is why the title of the site still says “Work in progress”.
I appreciate the feedback though. Just need to grow an extra pair of hands

I struggle for time these days, but I’m happy to help if I can. I’m in the same boat as you though, I learn as I go. Might be an idea to set up threads, or a sub-forum, for anything you need help with, that way if any of us already know how to do it, we can post instructions :good:

Don’t forget sig pics, when you have grown these extra hands
April 19, 2017 at 9:55 pm #6467For now John I think the forum is a little to delicate for your sig pics 🙂 However I will keep it mind and do some research.

It’s been in my profile for a long time now, maybe I should just add a sig line “check profile for rig specs” but maybe not as good as it showing in sig.
You need to be signed in to see all specs in profile as banner covers top if not signed in.
April 20, 2017 at 8:59 pm #6503A few weeks ago it was working very well.
I tried last week and got nothing.
April 20, 2017 at 9:05 pm #6504Well it works now unless proven otherwise.
