If the asteroids orbit had taken an hour or so longer it would have smashed into the earth – possibly somewhere in the Middle East (my guess) with who knows what consequences!

It may have hit Tel Aviv or Mecca (the latter already has its own big lumps of meteorite), then no doubt Iran would take the blame. Any extra terrestial ‘ Act of God ‘ in that part of the world is potentially very dangerous.

Who’s God would be responsible for the act? That’s the $64,000 question.

May be you have to accept the responsibility on behalf of your own God to show he can smite his foes better than the competition?

Then we can have a war to prove who’s God it was, not who’s it wasn’t.

I would be more interested in discovering the nature of the advanced technology that the (mythical, allegiance undefined) deity was using to propel the rock(s)

Now that knowledge would be useful, if used for peaceful purposes…

I don’t think it thst scary. Also I’d not want any notice of its arrival, even the 26 hour notice is too long.

One of the best ways to go, everyone at the same time. No worrying before it and no mourning after it.

Steve, I cannot fault your logic. There are too many ways to know that something is about to befall you. If a final one is on its way better ignorance than a long slow slide though dementia.
