This scam email is doing the rounds, at least one person I know has received a copy but without owning or driving a car.
Others have also received copies.Richard
March 15, 2017 at 1:13 pm #5215Heard about these. Not seen one (maybe they’re all in my spam folder). But I have to say, as there’s no name, no plate number, no location, and no time, I fear for human kind if anyone without difficulties falls for it. And yet we know they will.
March 15, 2017 at 5:50 pm #5224I cannot argue with your comments, one person laughed at the stupidity of the ‘official looking tripe’ but also knew that some would fall for it as you do. The 95 year old was slightly concerned that it was misaddressed as he has no license or car. He was still slightly concerned that bailiffs might be knocking down his door seeking settlement of the mythical claim. Often the mail seeks only to lure people into opening such crap and then the real misery can start.

It’s people renting out their driveways. I use it for the football away games all the time. Good for London I found, instead of using the ridiculously priced car parks.

The number of times I could have used that app, Steve!
Oh, wait, mostly in the days before smartphones. Before mobiles, even. I once parked near South Africa Road (QPR) in what I thought was an abandoned piece of land, turned out it was a long dirt road up to someone’s driveway, round an unseen bend and behind trees. There was a guy waiting by my car when I came back, got really stroppy, would not listen to my apology, grabbed my shirtfront, so my mate chinned him and we drove off, my mate laughing his AO. Forest had won, we were in a good mood, so my mate only hit him the once…
