When I was at uni, the courses was put online, but not for public access, you could only access the modules you was signed up to. Back then there was no tracking of attendance or virtual attendance. Which was good for me, as I lived 40+ miles from my uni, so on the days when you are I had one lecture, I’d rarely go, if it wasn’t an interesting module.
I found most of the lecturers highly boring.
Especially in this modern age anywindows laptop would do. Id stay away from chromebooks as some subjects may wan a you to remote into to use programs on their servers. I’m my day it was java based and terrible. Liverpool uni that my lad goes, has a similar set up which is far superior now.
I’d still doubt a CB would work. But contacting the uni tech department would clear that up. Still for the price of a CB you can get a referb i7 laptop.

None other than Maggie Thatcher, who invented the way to efficiently insert air into the ice cream mix, thus enabling those two companies and others, to make more profit out of less material. And I think it is correct to say that she patented it, which may answer several questions about the Iron Lady.
Fake news, I’m afraid. She did no such thing.
It would seem that you are correct Jason, after some research I found this: https://tinyurl.com/y84rl8ha
I humbly apologise to the shade of The Blessed Margaret, Lady Thatcher, for my false report. Lots of other stuff I will never apologise for connecting her too, though. This is another example of what is now labelled Fake News. I am ashamed of disseminating such a calumny, and will check sources in future.
I’m very ‘umble.

I'm out.June 22, 2017 at 9:30 pm #9393Hi All,
Thanks for the saveonlaptops link. That gives me the best base line to start from I’ve seen.
As always when dealing with someone who wants a laptop, and asks for help, my next task will be to steer them away from ‘the nice salesperson’ at their favourite browsing place.
Wish me luck, and thanks for the pointer in the right direction.
