None comutper thred appologies.
so I find my self in a strange place and I was wondering if any one else is there or been there.
I am fed up of doing the right thing all the time and getting it thrown back at me.
Hmm what to do??
May 24, 2017 at 2:35 pm #7846Lol, that’s just married life! ?
And life in general if I’m honest.
May 24, 2017 at 2:37 pm #7847There’s a different answer depending on whether your query is in regard to friends/family/partner.
In the case of friends, if you think you’re doing the right thing – so long as you’re not deluding yourself – the problem is theirs.
With respect to family, the above applies, but extreme caution needed.
With respect to a partner – that’s quicksand!! ie don’t go there!!

+1,
Except if real friends you should be able to be honest and share why you are concerned.
If partner, yeah quicksand, but maybe you need to pay more attention to your partner, and ration the amount of time you are spending ‘doing your own thing, playing with PC etc’. Do more ‘things’ together, but first stop cut back on solitary occupations. Above all do NOT ask your partner ‘Whats wrong?’ as that often implicitly implies they are at fault!
May 24, 2017 at 5:02 pm #7855Ed – I don’t think there’s any “maybe” about it – or any doubt – you will already have been informed of any and all misdemeanors, (un)intentional or otherwise!!?
May 24, 2017 at 7:08 pm #7863John I do not disagree, but there are more ways than one to get in the dog house, I just gave the ones that got me into trouble!
May 24, 2017 at 7:35 pm #7865Sometimes you don’t have to actually do anything.
If your antagonist is your OH, and female, then attempting to battle feminine (lack of) logic does not work. They march to a different drum and music from the pipes they hear, is beyond the reach of the male ear. Good Grief, that rhymes!
Go with the flow and make sympathetic noises, but watch the face closely. All their feelings flash across their expressions, you have to be quick with an interpretaion.
I often get it wrong: one reason why I have applied to rehome a retired Guide dog. Another oldphart to share blame and/or empathise with.
Unless we get a bitch……. 🙁 But I love my SWMBO dearly, really.

A problem shared is a problem halfed and based on your replies giving me food for though it looks like most of it is down to jealousy.
Hey ho they are all a bunch of tossers, as there nothing big and clever about me. I just strive.
May 24, 2017 at 8:55 pm #7875That could easily be it – they can’t get their head around the fact that some people just like to get on with life/job/whatever, without getting involved in ( petty ) dramas!!
