I currently have 8 PCs in the house, all of them capable of playing games at least on low settings (except server).  I turned them all on and everything else in the house off (except standby equipment and the fridge/freezer but don’t think they were running)

In total my Smart meter said the draw was 796W which is much lower than I expected.

      The detail …
i7 (low power 720QM) in my server (no screen)
      i7 , GTX 980 and 34″ ultra-wide (just desktop)
      i5, GTX 970 with 29″ ultra-wide (playing Roblox)
i3, GT 1030 with 21″ screen (playing Roblox)
i5, GTX 750 with 19″ screen (playing Roblox)
i5, GTX 770 with 23″ screen (playing Roblox)
i3, GTX 1050 with 22″ screen (playing Roblox)
Q9550, GTX 770 with 21″ screen (playing Roblox)
      2 switches and a modem.

Now that you have everything ‘on’ , set the PCs up in the same way, allow time to stabilise and take the power reading. Now turn them off and take another power reading. It will be interesting to compare the difference with your previous reading.

That game is serious low calibre… It probabley requires less umph than MSN home page.

I recently built a new media center featuring the Athlon 200GE.

Modern power saving settings are also extremely good compared to what they used to be as well.

One of the benefits of installing Conky on my desktop was that I am able to see how often the CPU is actually running at less than 1Ghz!
