I am back in hospital (Grimsby) had yet more scans. They think they can cure the blockage without surgery. However there may be more cancer.

Coming on top of our grim Christmas*, Bob’s news tops off the start of 2021 as a year not wishing to be out done by the previous year. I join others in hoping and wishing for better news for Bob, his previous good humour and stalwart ability was a beacon in dark days. I fervently hope he can return to better health. His message offered hope, let it be answered with a positive outcome this time.

Just when the world needs a smidgeon of good news, another gut-wrenching piece of bad comes along.

Please tell him we’re gutted to hear that. My first instinct was to reply that if we nailed his feet to the perch, Monty Python style, we wouldn’t miss him so much. Bob might smile at that in his usual good-humoured way, but it won’t make up for the fact that we’ll miss him. 🙁

Gutted – Bob has had a rough few years but he has been a lesson to all of us in keeping his own and other’s morale high.

Please ask Bob to pass on the forum address to his g’son, assuming that he does not already have it, as I’m sure he would like to be able read Bob’s reminiscences at some point in time.

Still, all things said and done, it ain’t over till the fat lady sings. Here’s hoping she misses her cue and that Bob has a few years yet! :good:

I can only echo what Ed said, Bob is a natural fighter and I hope he can kick the Grim Reaper in the nuts if he comes calling.
