Nolan, a vote for the candidate as a person, judged by your own opinion of their suitability to represent you, is the best way to vote IMHO. Voting for a candidate because of the political party they represent, is wrong in my view. I always vote for the person I think best represents the MP I want to represent me.

Too many people “have always voted ………. ” (insert Party name) -” and so did my dad/granddad/etc, etc….”

When the Thought Police arrive at your door, think -
      I'm out.

I just hope that ‘details’ Johnson does not kow-tow to Trump over the FAA when surrendering everything to the Yanks.

Despite a catastrophic failure which split open the 777X test aircraft while still within the parameters of the test. The FAA will accept Boeings back of the envelope mods to reinforce the failure places. Boeing will not be asked to do the obvious retest in case it fails. (there can be no other reason!)

Well, its that day.   The Polls say it will be a lottery and is entirely unpredictable.    So just for fun lets treat it as such.    Pick a number or tight range.

Me bet is a tiny Conservative majority of 8 to 12.

Well, this only affects us here indirectly but I have considered and think I know the ideal result. Usually, I think the best result is a main party with a SMALL MAJORITY, such as you are predicting, but this time I see it differently, so your ideal result would be a tory majority of 60 to 70, but with Bojo losing his seat as was suggested as a possibility previously. That SHOULD make the tories more acceptable, provided they can choose a better PM. Don’t give Bojo time to beg for a quick safe seat please. Such a majority would hopefully allow Labour to purge themselves of JC, JM and momentum, and in one or more parliaments, become once more an electable party with a manifesto that makes sense.

One may not have liked Blair, but he did not completely kill the UK over 13 years. JC and JM would have done the whole thing inside one parliamentary term, and maybe, using Hitler techniques, made themselves a non-removable government.

Oh Hell! They still could, we won’t know before 10:00pm. If they do get in, I predict a big rise in house prices, HERE on the Isle of Man.

            Les.

I think it will be a hung parliament. TBH any small majority will be too as minority interests will be able to hijack the agenda as they have the last 3 years. They may all have “signed up” before the election (or been purged) but after tomorrow that means nothing.

Taking bets on when Diane Abbott, Marc Francois, Jacob Rees-Mogg, etc. will be allowed to reappear. In a weird way I’ve missed them all 😀

Well no matter what happens I am predicting an increased Labour majority in my constituency of Harrow West.

Given the talk in the polling que today, anyone would think that the sun shone directly from JC’s ass.

I do not know what it is like in your neck of the woods, but here it is a perfectly foul day with driving rain and a wind chill of -1. Only the dedicated or driven will vote, and turn out could be low!

Funny enough Ed the weather here (Essex) has been poor but not terrible and it “feels” like the turn out is high. Went to do my vote (hoping for an independent candidate) but as the choices were Tory, Labour, Libdem, Green I just stuck an unmarked ballot paper in the box, Pointless I know but couldn’t bring myself to support any of that lot.

Also did a proxy vote for an ex-pat mate in a different ward. In both cases there felt like more people voting than normal.

Results will be interesting as a few labour stalwarts mates are abstaining – won’t matter here as its nailed on tory – but wonder if that will affect elsewhere – particularly the labour areas that are “leave”.

I generally look at the bookies more than the polls – but the bookies called brexit completely wrong so I wouldn’t be overly surprised by any result.

I’ll be interested to see the turnout as my poll aint exactly scientific!

Well, it was a wish list not a prediction I made, and it seems it came to pass with regard to the majority, but Bojo stayed. No idea what his majority ended up at.

I still worry about the JM part of the JC & KM duo, and will momentum be destroyed. Not sure it will any time soon. It needs all those former labour MPs from the time of JCs stupid accession to stand up and shout, plus those who lost their seats last night, plus those who shifted allegiance  to shout with them. But does momentum now have a stranglehold on the party’s machinery?

I suppose you had better puzzle it out among yourselves.

                                      Les.

Well who saw that coming? I nearly did a Blacklion but decided I needed to vote so ended up voting against those I liked least but talk about holding your nose!

The only thing I got right was the Brexit Party gaining nothing. I believe they may have queered the pitch in a few seats but that’s all. But how does such a small increase in the popular vote = so many seats? The system really is broken but turkeys aren’t going to vote for Christmas.

I see the Corbynistas are blaming Brexit not Corbyn the man or the policies. If it wasn’t for Brexit we’d have cut through, the policies are popular, etc. Bollocks. Also who decided Labour’s Brexit policy anyway? Sit on the fence until it breaks.

At least Farage should be buggering off to America soon.

Spot on Dave. I said no result would surprise me but that one did. Genuinely surprised that the combined effect of Corbyn and Labour’s mushy Brexit stance would be enough to drive so many working class areas to vote Tory – some for the first time ever.

One thing I do know is that we need an effective opposition whoever is in power – and so Labour need to make themselves at least half-electable again.

Was also surprised that the Lib-Dem leader was not contesting a safer seat.

Probably good news she’s gone too. Both the Lib Dems and Brexit Party got an over inflated idea of themselves from the Euro election protest votes.

Once Boris got “his” deal (actually a reheated May reject) that was it. All people could see was MPs voting against everything and for nothing. There was no Remain alliance as Labour wanted to run with the hare and the hounds. Automatic revoke was a step too much. So where do you go?

All I’m hearing on the TV is Corbynistas in total denial. If Corbyn isn’t gone by the end of the week they can forget it. But with the modern trend for those in power to cling to it no matter what he probably won’t. It may well be full out civil war this time.
