I realised with growing concern that I had not read anything from Bob recently. A check showed that he was in upbeat mood when it appears he last wrote so I wondered what has been happening with him, hopefully nothing bad, just the pressure of enjoying life with his family.

I do have his number but I think it may be improper of me to call him. I am not sure, any how wait and see what happens over the next few days. He knows he can call me if there are issues he wants to pass on to us.

All is good. His village has been with out internet for 2 weeks for some reason, should be back on the 25th.

I was thinking about Bob when I saw on the news about the Historical Investigations Unit and the problems it has been causing for ex-servicemen of the time who served over there. A local guy ( officer, I think, who talked about the effect on the the men under him, has sent his medal back to be given to Theresa May. HERE.

Here’s hoping we hear from him soon – maybe the Internet will be back ahead of schedule. I’ll wager he has been getting his fix through his mobile – courtesy of his grandson – but I know I hate to post on the mobile, permanent finger trouble on the smaller screen. It’s easier on the iPad, but I do love my keyboard!!??

I must admit that it does seem iniquitous that prominant IRA members have been effectively absolved from their terrorist acts, but British Servicemen have not receive a similar absolution for anything they may, or may not, have done in the heat of the moment.
