      Hi guys

I am currently waiting for a response from Wileyfox regarding the wife’s Spark which I RMA’d to them for repair at their invitation. I was a bit cautious and sent it insured, signed for and first class/next day. Then I sent them a pic of the RM receipt, which they acknowledged. TBH, WF CS have been good throughout, keeping me informed and asking for the RMA.

However that turns out, if it goes TU and its inability to accept SD cards without corrupting them is not repaired, or they say ‘nothing wrong’ then I am going to need a new phone for Her Maj. I have seen this recommended on the forun several times and wonder what you all think:

Bit more than she would want me to pay (OK, a lot, my missus does not subscribe to my “Buy Best affordable” motto) but I have a Currys voucher for £50, so bringing the price down quite a bit. It’s sim-free, so she could drop in her EE sim and carry on. It also looks light years ahead of the Spark, which TBH was better with Nougat, but still slow: IMO, I believe that the upgrade from CMod to Nougat has exposed the limitations of the Spark. My Swift has just kept on keeping on.

SWMBO does not use much data, mostly phone and photos, so the 16 GB should be plenty. What do you guys think?

All advice appreciated, as usual. TY, guys.

Thanks here to Nolan for the advice about ES File Manager: installed it and it has helped me to learn how to shuffle stuff around between SD card and phone storage. It’s a cool programme, still finding features. Cheers, Nolan.

The G5 is a great phone, mum has the Plus and loves it.  It’ll be a fair old jump in performance.

Glad you’re finding your way around Es, great app. ?

Cant go wrong with the G line. Though you may want to check out the latest E too. Of they do a 16gb version, that would be more than enough for her.

Unless she wants a larger phone.

I’ve the G5 Plus and it’s decent for all I need.

Recently had issues with the camera app keeps restarting for some reason but I’ve not restarted the phone recently but other than that, I’ve had no issues with it at all.

              Thanks guys.

Drezha the camera restart happened to my Swift for a while, until I discovered that my arthritic hands were catching the cam icon at the edge of the phone, every time I tried to swipe. Irritated me until I realised that.
