I have a monthly problem with my energy company (I am not getting the Government energy grant) each month I have to email, it’s a long winded problem and not the purpose of this thread.

I thought I would contact Martin Lewis, I searched the web, I clicked on a link and emailed. Giving  my name, energy  account number, mobile and postcode. Along with details of my problem with the energy company.

I realised today I haven’t contacted Martin Lewis I contacted  Money Expert and Martins Web is Money Saving Expert. I did keep looking at the email add I used and it didn’t look right, now I know the word Saving is missing.

I have no knowledge of Money Expert and I am panicking if I gave to much information and what might Money Expert do with it.

      Cheers
      John

If it was MoneyExpert.com then TrustPilot gives it 4.6 stars. I.e.  They are trustworthy, but will not necessarily get you the best deals – as usual ‘Buyer Beware’ holds true.

IF those were the only details you sent, then you should be relatively safe from all but scam telephone calls seeking bank details etc. Sounds as though you have learned a good lesson: always double check before sending emails containing any personal info.

Personally, I now never respond to emails on my mobile as it is far too easy to send something without thought. I always respond from my pc as that gives me a bit of extra thinking time.
