Ordered a £250 CCTV camera tester from Amazon for evening delivery. Received an email at 20:38
at 20:36. What? Checked the CCTV, no-one came anywhere near here even at vaguely that time. If you knew the layout of our road you’d know that #12 is so unfeasible as a neighbour it’s untrue. It’s not a road with odds on one side and evens on another. You have to walk past nearly a dozen real neighbours and down a 100 metre footpath past a few more houses. Anyway went around this morning and they’re away.
So raised a call and to their credit Amazon phoned me back in seconds. after a quick check the item is still with the courier! We’ll get it delivered ASAP. Not his morning I said and after 10am tomorrow we’re on holiday. They promised to deliver this afternoon.
We’ll see what happens.
March 3, 2017 at 8:51 am #4710Just had a phone call, it’s “lost in transit” so a refund is being processed.
March 3, 2017 at 9:20 am #4712I’ve had this a couple of times, uk Mail was the worst. This is why I use Amazon for anything of value, and think the prime fee is worth it. The next day delivery is good, but it’s their CS that keeps me renewing.
Other places are upping their game, but atm know one can touch Amazon. As you say withing in seconds they call you, and dead over backwards to help.
I think uk mail is now dead. Good riddens.
I once had a nail gun go missing, delivered to an imaginary neighbour. they delivered a second the next day. about a month later the origanal showed up. I contacted Amazon, they called back and said keep it, gave it the BiL for Xmas.
March 3, 2017 at 10:37 am #4718A rare cock-up, then. Happens. However, almost every day, I get customers saying, “My parcel hasn’t arrived. Where is it?” And when I check, the Amazon tracking shows it’s arrived, sometimes to a neighbour. I always reply back with, “My sincere apologies. It seems you may be the victim of postal fraud or theft. I will need to contact the police and obtain a crime number. The police may contact you. I take these matters very seriously. I’ll get back to you when I have more information from the police. In the meantime, again, my sincere apologies.”
Strange, but 19 times out of 20, I either hear nothing further or receive a message stating that it’s been found.
Amazon do cock up, but not often.
March 3, 2017 at 10:44 am #4719Yes Jason, they defo do cockup form time to time, but imo you only ever find out how good a company is when they cockup.
For me Amazon cocks up the best atm.
March 3, 2017 at 11:00 am #4721Agreed. Customer service is outstanding.
March 3, 2017 at 3:29 pm #4731+1 to that.
I’m surprised they don’t have dash cams or body cams, they are cheap enough. The problem I have is absence of footage!
On Sunday I was expecting a delivery so had the camera phone app on as it takes me a bit longer to get down the stairs to the door. Saw the car arrive and got to the door to find they had gone straight to the safe place and were about to put a “you were out card” through the letter box. I find it hard to complain too much about that sort of practice as I know they are under stupid time pressure. I suspect 9 / 10 if there’s no car on the drive they get no answer.
March 3, 2017 at 5:47 pm #4736My problem atm is someone on this Forum. I sent the person a parcel containing one of the last MM mags, have PM’d twice, emailed and a message on here, no result. I have written off the price of the mag and the P&P, it’s realtive peanuts, but it saddens me that a Forumite can do this. As I say, I wrote it off.
You know who you are and no one else needs to know. Yet…. :negative: 🙁

Not up to you to apologise Jason, I didn’t send it to you. I would not expect you to do something like that.

March 3, 2017 at 6:15 pm #4743No I’m Sparticus. Lol.
I did get one from another top formite. However I just had to check my msg to check it wasn’t you. My mind was playing tricks.
How come there is a ‘2’ at the end of your UN bob?
March 3, 2017 at 6:15 pm #4744Note though @bullstuff2 , Some people do miss the private messages here. I am working on making them more prominent, just an idea 🙂

March 3, 2017 at 6:19 pm #4746No, and I won’t give the name. I am hoping this shames the person, all I can say is that it is not someone I have regularly spoken with on here.
It does not reflect upon you or the forum Lee, it’s my problem. I have written it off as a bad job, I still retain my own copy of the last MM.

I'm out.March 3, 2017 at 6:32 pm #4752It wasn’t me, it was delivered elsewhere.
March 3, 2017 at 8:35 pm #4756In my experience even the mildest complaint/comment about non/late delivery to Amazon normally ends up with a month’s free Prime/extension. I use this link:

Polite and pro-Amazon tempered with mild disappointment seems to be the perfect tone to strike…..:)
