      I am not 100% on synaptics, when i clicked on the Mouse in Control Panel a message came up that a Ps/2 mouse has installed you need to uninstall synaptic and re install your new device.

      Do You want to uninstall Synaptice Yes/No

      Edit:

      Using HP recovery Manager I am refreshing the system.

        Well

        the cursor (touchpad) is working again (after refreshing the system) Windows is taking care of a few things, then I will need update Windows and re install a few programs.

        It seems all is over, but many thanks for the help with this.
