Their (Xiaomi) hardware looks great but have read they are integrating advertising into the OS….as opposed to at App-level. Can’t remember where I read it but was enough to make me think twice.

I suspect that is Apple or Sony FUD!

As i said, it may pay to wait until (say) Black Friday sales. There may well be reliable reviews by then as well. As the bottom of the range is most likely to get plagued by Ads perhaps the Mi A2 is a good marker. (no mention of Ads in this review)

Got this on Windows 10 yesterday, a Spotify advert in Groove Music. Only there because I was trying to open a media file that iTunes and every other item thought was corrupt.

I’ve been setting up the G6 Plus from Drezha and very nice it is too. In it’s case it’s only fractionally bigger than the G4 but with a larger screen (smaller bezels). The screen quality is very good but not tried it outside yet, nor have I tried the camera but it’s got to be better than the G4. I have a very small Lumix TM70 I use to take photos when travelling so it doesn’t really bother me.

It’s certainly nippy, just waiting for a nano sim from 3 then it’ll be out on the road. Looking forward to Google Pay.
