Libre Draw question.

Posting here since I use Mint.

I use Draw for all sorts of stuff, including circuit diagrams, “engineering” drawings etc., but still only at basic stage.

I have a circuit I drew which I want to modify for another version of the same thing. It currently has 7 horizontal lines of different colours terminating in a connection block. I wish to shorten them and stick a crocodile clip on the ends.

OK, deleting terminal block is simple, followed by grabbing LH end of each line and repositioning it say 5cm to the right. However, it is easy to lose “horizontal”, and then I faff around with mouse getting final end location “just right”. Often I need to magnify page (+ on KB) to get exact position.

Since each line’s coordinates are written out below the bottom of the page, can I simply access those coordinates to give the line length reduction and position I want? It seems obvious to me, so I am sure it is possible. If so, how???

Not an answer to your question as I don’t use Libre Draw.

I use Google Drawings to do the same thing. If you don’t get the answer give it a go.

Found it. I just use “Position and size” dialogue, F4 brings it up. Can change length, position, angle etc. using that box.

That will be use OFTEN in future.

I am slowly increasing my ability to do stuff. This will make my attempts at engineering drawings actually worthwhile.

I am currently modifying the design of an early 1930’s throttle slide, both drawing it out and making it. Now (well, soon) my drawing can be interpreted by others who can find dimensions even if I don’t give them.
