About £400 odd with one of the accessories, sometimes hit £350.

Better not cos the SE version was £350

It’s taking some getting used to for the power button on the back but I’m sure I’ll get used to it in time.

£350 is a good price, given its company. But if honest I’d go 1+3 or 3t, probably just the 3t if I was after a phone today. Mainly as I don’t have one and like to vary the oems I buy from. Only really samsung that’s on my banned list, and of course the iPhone.

Still I think the best thing G5 has the best shape of the 2015 phones, I love the top glass that falls away, looks really sleek, and differnt. The pixel is very boring in looks. Very much like the P9 it follows the iPhone design closely. It’s not a bad thing, but boaring.

They are also releasing 3 android devices soom, nokia 3 5 and 7, can’t really what is what, but tee is going to be a 720p sd 425 with2gb of ram for £150, I will be getting it at some point.

My eldest girl just broke her 1+1 yesterday, leaked drink in bag. It’s currently in a bag of rice on the radiator. But I doubt it will survive. I’ll checker one of the spares (not my 6p) and hopefully get that Nokia if it isn’t to for off

if they relaunch it I’ll take it I hate smart phones (actually I don’t but the gyro on my S5 has failed and can’t afford the £££ for a new one this month!)

No real complaints so far, other than OK Google is a POS and doesn’t seem to work a dam. And unlike the iPhone, I can’t press a button to initiate it if it doesn’t hear me (so makes it less useful when driving).

It’s a bit of a long shot but you might be having the same trouble with ‘OK Google’ that I do on my G5, it hates my voice. Recognizes my voice maybe a third of the time. My K1 tablet gets it right abut 80% of the time.

As far as I can figure out it’s either the LG build of Nougat, the microphone or both.

                    Edit.

Yeah Siri works well but Ok Google doesn’t like it at all. Mind, I’ve never used Hey Siri, so perhaps not a fair comparison. If I select the voice search it seems ok, but obviously can’t do this whilst driving!

A gear quirk of “ok google”, it doesn’t work if your phone is locked.

To fix this for car use, conect it to your cars bluetooth, and you the BT ad a “smart unlock” ie they BT device keeps the phone unlocked.

Of you don’t have a BT connection in your car I can highly recommend this

Well I did have that setup to auto unlock when in the car and I’m sure there was an option that did allow you to run it when locked (as there’s an option to access sensitive info at the lock screen if you want it).

Car has bluetooth so I’m covered there 😉

                            Posher car than mine.

My old one did (2004 car)  but with BT 4.0 it was made obsolete for my last year of ownership.

I was going to say for that money get the 1+3 all day, put it looks like the 3t has fully replaced it now. Shame. The 3t is alot of phone for the cash, but £50 above your budget.

Also i find it a bit ugly with the front Samsung esk button. I’d struggle to hand over £400 for it, even though it’s probably the best device on sale atm. Thats without taking into account price.

The nexus 6p is now selling for around £350, that share the same camera as the pixel, and is the best low lowlight snapper in the biz atm, the phone is superb, though if you rate video capture its lack of image stabilisation lets it down badly.

Ether way the £350 spot seems to be the sweet spot for a stinking hot device atm. Last years good stuff, is still fantastic stuff.

Sticking with the iPhone until I start my new job and see what I’m offered there. Will then see what happens.

I did thing it stat age you dropping £350 on a phone, in the middle of probably the most expensive part of your life so far. I done the move about 15years ago, and it wasn’t cheap, not quotes as far as you just 60miles, but the distance isn’t really the expensive part.

Well true – though there’s a mix of an impressive increase on the house price (28% increase over just under three years because London and suburbs are insane) and a relocation package and I thought I’d have a crack.

I’ve also cleared out a lot of kit recently on eBay (last night one of my bikes has gone, though I’m doubtful as the buyer is in Hampshire and I’m not delivering!)

You may if lucky and be able to afford an 256gb iPhone 8. Doubtful hose prices have risen that much though ?
