Did anyone else fail to notice that Intel launched its new Core i9X chips last year ? I did.

This must be what happens eventually when you cant get Micro Mart any more ?

For those that may be interested you can get the i9 7900X with 10 cores and 20 threads on socket LGA2066 for just £890 !

iirc the tech press gave it a big ho-hum! i.e. Not fast enough, lacking in innovation and too expensive. I got the impression from the press that Intel was struggling to find an effective answer to the Ryzen Threadripper architecture — see zdnet

It had a whole boat full of bad press last year. It was more to do with how intel was licencing parts of the CPU to the user. I can’t fully recall the issues, i find pay to much attention .

Linustech tips covered it, and they are intel fans boys, and they destroyed intel 9 big time. Iirc they said you need to have to need one a lot to get one.
