I ordered some re-manufactured ink this week for my Pixma MG4250 from https://www.inkfactory.com/, which arrived yesterday. When I got home last night I tried them, and there’s no yellow working, so rather late last night, I emailed (politely – unusual for me) to ask for advice in getting it working, and not really expecting much.

Nevertheless, a reply arrived today, telling me they will send a replacement, I don’t need to return the faulty one, and going on to offer advice and several links to further assistance in case I can get it working as intended.

Assuming the replacement arrives and works, I call that damned good CS, and given that they were the cheapest I found, exceptional. I’ll wait and see, but I can’t fault their enthusiasm for good customer service.

Arch Linux, on a Ryzen 7 1800X, 32 GB, 5 (yes -5) HDs inc 5 SSDs, 4 RPi 3Bs + 1 RPi 4B - one as an NFS server with two more drives, PiHole (shut yours), Plex server, cloud server, and other random Pi stuff. Nice CoolerMaster case, 2 x NV GTX 1070 8GB, and a whopping 32" AOC 1440P monitor.

Always good to hear of good CS Dan. Their prices are not as good as ebuyer for genuine XL cart’s for my TS 6150, though. I don’t buy compatibles, as I print photos and colour pages and found that the gen inks are best for that.

When the Thought Police arrive at your door, think -
        I'm out.

ebuyer are about 50% dearer for mine, and even with the paper they throw in (only 50 sheets) is still not great value. That said, I rarely need spot on colour reproduction for printing, so not as much as a problem for me to get re-manufactured (the carts are genuine Canon – and in fact they insist on only genuine for recycling) so after-market inks are usually fine for me.

For the last 5 to 8 years I have used “Mywalking” (ebay moniker) for my HP inks. I assume he does Canon. ONLY genuine ones, often very out of date (but very cheap) and an instant replacement if not perfect. I used to use the HP 3 colour ones (78?) and the yellows were especially dodgy. He did a simple test before despatch as an extra check. The genuine HP was listed at up to £60 for the high capacity types. I have moved on to a much newer HP8500A from amenity site, but he still supplies my needs. NO failures with these laser types. His email is “pandaluby.wanadoo.co.uk”.First name Gareth.

            Les.
