No luck with the Crucial site. It does not know about Shuttle, and its scanning tool is a Windoze exe file, so no use here.
I will see what time I have to play tomorrow.
Cheers, Les.
August 17, 2018 at 11:36 pm #24796The first screen shown in your link (JayCeeDee) showed a lower screen definition to mine, and as I said, it can not be changed in the setup screen.
@oldles – that was just the last image I looked at – the idea was there were so many settings screens, you might be able to make comparisons for some common settings. That’s what I took to be your problem, the default settings were empty on the install from Mint 19.Whichever way it goes, good luck with it.
August 18, 2018 at 6:30 pm #24821Yes, I did realise where you were coming from. It seemed to me that ONLY the picture settings and the “quality” control could help. All the other settings should not affect the “jumping” at all.The monitor itself chooses the settings (1920 X nnnn), and the prog fixes itself on that.
But another job on the back burner for a few days.
Thanks, Les.

September 19, 2018 at 10:09 pm #26111Success. Just browsing Ebay for RAM a couple of weeks ago, I spotted a couple of 2GB sticks of RAM that looked OK at a very reasonable price, so I took a punt. When they arrived, they looked OK, Kingston and correct details on sticks. Installed, computer goes once more into a 100% sulk. I reported this to the seller, who asked which RAM I had in now. Corsair. “I will send you two sticks of Corsair, and pay return postage on the others”. I said that if he had two that worked, don’t worry about return postage, since he did not know of the shuttle’s picky nature.
Anyway, they arrived today, in they went, and I now have the 4GB I wanted.
For the last race, I watched the start, but had to go out (‘bike run), leaving Simple Screen Recorder in control.
When I returned, I tried to watch the rest, but the whole lot, once under race conditions was impossibly pixilated.
I did not delete it, just left on the desktop, so tonight I idly clicked on it to see if it was a playback issue not record.
PERFECT playback, so a success for a change.
And that was the SECOND success today! But I will amuse you with that in another tread elsewhere later.

May 7, 2019 at 4:03 pm #33196I have not had cause to use simple screen recorder this year, but on Saturday, I was given a BTSport pass, so could watch MotoGP practice OK. For the race on Sunday, I would be able to view the start, leaving SSR in charge when I went out on the bike for a scheduled ride.
Go home, put it to play back the file, but as soon as the proper high speed “on track” action started, a seized up pixelated mess, un-viewable just like last year. Damn.
Monday, the big shuttle shuffle took place, as I was hopeful that the combination of better CPU and graphics card might just do the trick. Both shuttles now have the (maximum) 4GB RAM. No, this “bought new” shuttle with the best bits does not clear the playback problem.
When I tested out the “bought second hand” shuttle, with the 60GB SSD, I realised that was the one I was using last year when the problem was cured. It still had SSR, so I “started” a recording, writing down all the settings. – it always carries over whatever you set to the next time.
Anyway, back to the current shuttle and “start” a recording with that one. Last year’s setting had 25 frames per sec, Sunday’s had 30 fps. Hopefully I have the solution, if I get another pass.
