Well, it has just started hammering down and when I heard it on the conservatory roof I nipped out into it and the lightning has to be seen to be believed. Thunder has been about eight miles distant, but getting rapidly closer.

We’ve got it through till about 7am tomorrow, so who knows how much sleep I’ll get tonight!!! More on Friday and Sunday so Fathers Day looks like being rained off this year!! Our son is coming to us for a long weekend, the drive in to Stratford to collect him Friday evening should be interesting.

He’s bringing me an iPhone X(S?) now he’s upgraded to the 12. My trusty Moto G5 is playing up a little, camera keeps resetting, apps won’t update and the last security patch was in Feb 2019, which is a bit poor on someone’s behalf, wherever in the chain it occurs, otherwise it has been a brilliant phone.

The Met Office warning for thunder was cancelled yesterday.

I’ve been woken up by sunlight for the last 10 days or so but this morning it’s seagulls freaking out. It’s overcast and very warm already, feels like a storm is due.

It’s a lot fresher this morning and the pressure has dropped a little. We had a couple of power cuts around 2am this morning, but all back on not long after that.

It’s nesting time at the moment here for the seagulls so they’re always on full alert, letting the others know when there’s movement – they used to set off when I let a dog out into the garden for a late night pee.

You should be so lucky, all we have had is a few spots.

The weather seems to move in bands running SW to NE. Lots to the east of Oxford & some in a line from Devon through Tewkesbury (which normally includes Swindon) but a large swathe in between got very little.

We’ve had steady drizzle overnight and thunder forecast throughout the day – just you’re average Summer day in the middle of June!!!
