I accidentally broke my Creative Fatality headset the other day. It’s been faithful, even lasted through a repair, but I guess tape is only going to fix it for so long.

So I’ve been looking at a new set. I’ve sort of settled on the HyperX Cloud series, but now I just need to decide which one to go for.

My biggest issue is deciding whether or not I should go for a set that is a standard or whether to go for a 7.1 surround sound pair. I’ve never had any like that, so not sure if it’s a total gimmick or worth going for.

Anyone had any experience of surround sound set?

I picked a Hama 5.1 headset a few years ago for about £25. For that money I would have been daft not to. It’s nothing special, but it is a decent headset. The 5.1 makes no difference in most things, like music, or Facebook videos etc., but when you’ve got a decent source, it’s great.   :good:

I’d get a shennheiser as I’ve been with them for years get whatever they have at around £40. I have had 3 Pair, still got 2 wife broke one of the pair. They are rock solid, but little is my wife proof.

However I would probably get the audio technica below.

          Audio-Technica ATH-M20X Professional Headphones – Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00HVLUR18/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_CkbfzbVEFYH5A

But I do like the look of these too.

I take it they now make true surround sound headsets? I had one a considerable number of years ago. Back then it was the only true surround sound headset on the market – multiple drivers per ear. The others were marketed as surround sound but were just ordinary stereo headsets trying to emulate surround sound through their softwares. I played lots of online FPS games back then and it helped me judge direction of shots fired. It was fairly good for it iirc.

I have the Audio-Technica headphones you linked. Had. One ear stopped working a few days ago so I binned them. Good sound quality for price. Looked well built. No idea what happened to it. The only issue for me are the ear cushions. Too hard for my liking. Especially after they aged a bit that fake “leather” became rather hard and hurt my ears after longer periods of use. That reminds me I need to find a new pair to buy. This time I want a large pair that can cover my entire ear.

Also, the Audio-Technica headphones had a very short lead.

In the end, I have gone for the Hyper X Cloud II. Not convinced on the 7.1 surround mode, but they are very comfortable and sound great in normal stereo mode.  :good:

                  Head sets dont know but.

                  I’m playing 2016 NFS.

Hey this is a good one.

Really gets the blood going around.

Mostly in the dark and bad weather.

Its defo the big brother of NFS underground2. Remember how great that was?

Some real nice features in this game and any one can join your campain, cruise your streets and when you got your self a hot motor and skills you can challenge them to race types.

                  :good:

Was that on the PS2? If so, my original PS2 died halfway though that game. I jumped in the car, straight to the local second hand trade in computer shop, (it’s gone now), and grabbed a second had PS2 for about £100 just to continue on.

That and tiger woods golf was a real time killer. Every night we would play TW for hours.

That’s around the PS2 time. Early to mid 2000s maybe 4/5. I’d was on my first pc, it was no gamer. A p4 3.0ghz box from PC world.

Just been looking at some old digital photos from 2004 my fisrt digi camera.

I dont know how much time they have got left but they dont look to good on a 1080 screen and when I move to 4k? and then 8k they will probs look like an 8bit game frame shot.

                          Ouch for sentiment.

This is why you should always take photos and especially videos in the highest quality you can.

Ive got digital photos from 2005 when Liverpool brought their 5th European cup through the city (we don’t talk about it much lol), anyhow, the pictures today, are worse than awful, I took them on I think a Sony Walkman phone.

If they wasn’t of that day, and my only record, they would be binned.

People for the last few years have mocked smart phones for being able to record in 4k, with there being any real way to watch it. Be a use of my past experience  above, I know in 20 years, a 4k video will still look good. At least watchable, by whatever the standard is then probably 16k. If I chose 720p/1080,it would look rather rough.

One of my photos from 2005. Should of remembered the camera.

It was a friendly affair Ed. Never seen so many people in one place.

I recall someone reporting about 300k turned out in St George’s Plaza/square, and about another 200k line the route from Anfield to the city Center.

It was a great day. About 10am me and the wife decided we would attend, so went and collected the d the kids from school (cough fambo emergency), and headed into town.

The atmosphere was amazing, alot of blues was out joining in too. We had 4 kids then, and in hindsight taking an almost 4 year old wasnt the greatest idea. Especially towards the end. When it got very busy.
