December 18, 2019 at 12:13 am #38926Yup Tiz the season to be jolly. Although not feeling it yet WIP.
I was getting in the Christmas mood till I got home from work today. Christmas meet up planned having a good laugh. Walked into the house erm you better phone the vet £400 later the dog isn’t getting a doggy stocking this year. Other than that I hope you all have a good one and many more to come.
December 18, 2019 at 8:33 pm #38944Hope the dogs OK. Mine had its nails done at the parlour last month, and 5hey cut a whole foots worth short! They ended up very sore and I ended up withalmost a 100 pound bill from thd vets for some meddy.
Though I got a twofor, as she also had a lump formimg, bit it was just a Sist and they popped it for her. She didn’t t even notice. Dogs are hard as nails.
December 18, 2019 at 10:27 pm #38946He’s going to have a fair old scar. He’s had 16 staples you can tell he’s in a bit of pain even for a staffie that don’t normally show it. Either that or he’s milking it for all the extra affection he’s getting or maybe a bit of both. Vet said he’s going to be fine and was really impressed with his behaviour “Are we talking about the same dog here”
December 20, 2019 at 11:34 am #39018I can only wish you all that you wish for yourself and your families over Christmas and the New Year.

December 25, 2019 at 11:55 am #39125A Merry Christmas to everyone 😃
The hoped for whisky is Welsh! Danzy Jones Celtic Spirit, it’s a liqueur made with single malt, herbs and rosehips and so a lot sweeter but it’s as smooth as silk. Far too drinkable and will be perfect for the hip flask if the weather lets us get out of doors.
December 25, 2019 at 1:13 pm #39126Off to my daughter’s for Chrimbo dinner. She always overfeeds us, so I will probably have to snooze later. House is up a long path and right into farmland, so peaceful. It is very sunny atm, so might have a good walk nearby instead of a snooze, there are some lovely countryside walks. Better take me walking boots! Have a great day everyone. I’m thinking of a mate whose missus passed away last month, he’s on his own and depressed. I messaged his daughter and she is taking him dinner: he won’t go to hers. I have been FB’ ing him all week. It’s an unhappy time for people on their own.

I'm out.December 25, 2019 at 4:05 pm #39128I hope everyone had a great Christmas and that the New Year brings all you hope for.
Christmas is always nice and quite as tomorrow all the children descend on us to collect their loot and for the older ones to drink the booze and pig out on a rib roast. As a result I have spent most of today repairing my wife’s collection of musical Santas. (I dunno why I do it as the noise is a bleeding cacophony of numerous Chinese interpretations of random carols and Christmassy songs.)
December 25, 2019 at 9:47 pm #39129I hope you all had a good day I know I did. Only thing is I’m still sober at this time that’s never happened before. I also wish you all the best for the new year.
December 26, 2019 at 7:15 am #39131Hope alls went well. We’re having ours today, as I worked all day yesterday. Though it was still good. got the pressies out the way before 9am, out to work for 10am, and slowly got pickled throughout the day. Home for 11pm. Ate my Xmas dinner in bed from my mother in laws. It was very good. I’d of enjoyed anything by then, but sure it was as good as it felt. And still belated now 7 hours on.
Spending it with the kids tomorrow, then off the pub to watch the game at 8pm. (probably get sozzled again).
December 26, 2019 at 4:13 pm #39147All went well at dear daughter’s. Smashing meal, mostly cooked by SIL, who has a parallel with our son, in that they both brought up two children alone after first relationships broke down. That meant that they both had to learn to cook and run a house. He made something I have never had before: chestnuts and Brussels, sliced and cooked together. That was delicious, as was the rest.
Called at our son’s on the way home, they will be here tomorrow for a meal which will be a buffet as our place is too tiny for a big spread. Chicken goes in tomorrow morning. New Years Eve will be the big one at Granddaughter’s new house, when we meet all the new in laws.

I'm out.December 26, 2019 at 7:33 pm #39152Went to Porthcawl yesterday morning, took mum and her fella, to see the loons doing the charity Christmas swim.
Lovely morning but as soon as the sun got hidden by clouds it got cold quick.

If you zoom in tight on the above you can see ‘santa’ in the coastguard helicopter.
That was a lucky shot with my little Panasonic TZ-90, full zoom and couldn’t see a thing because of the sun reflecting of the screen.
December 29, 2019 at 5:52 am #39189A bit mental that lot. Hope everyone’s holiday went well. And them who never I hope it turns around quickly in 2020
