PM, probably a spoof, but you cannot get the labour these days, anywhere.
May 19, 2018 at 1:00 pm #20900My first thought was a spoof but I truly hope it’s real.
May 19, 2018 at 1:39 pm #20901Just been looking at the wedding, HM Queen did NOT seem to be very happy – could it be that she was relegated to the 2nd row? She seemed a lot happier en route back home in the car, from what I saw she was head down when occasionally on TV.

May 19, 2018 at 4:19 pm #20904Dwynne, t’owd lass has entered her 10th decade, I think she is entitled to nod off now and again!

I'm out.May 19, 2018 at 4:27 pm #20907Bob, I totally agree. She is going quite well in my book, so is the Duke, she is still alive and still aware of the world. If I get that far I shall be surprised – if I still have enough marbles to roll round to be able to know.
May 19, 2018 at 9:08 pm #20922I agree with the age matters but she hardly looked up from the floor during the vows etc. etc. Accepting that she might not have wanted to be the centre of attention at the wedding I just wonder if she was a ‘bit miffed’ as having to sit in the 2nd row – she’s probably never had to do that before? I feel there was a distinct ‘coldness’ this time and I fully support our Royal Family.

May 19, 2018 at 10:18 pm #20927We all ‘support them’ Dwynne, just not in the way you mean!
I am a Republican. Did you know that Oliver Cromwell’s grandfather was a Williams? Olly’s dad changed the family name in honour of Thomas Cromwell, chief minister to Henry VIII and architect of the Reformation. Of course in the end, Olly went too far, but a British Republic would be real democracy, IMO. No more Sovereigns, no more Lords and Ladies, dukes, etc. And a proper, elected Upper House instead of all those oldpharts in the Lords, mostly asleep and in their dotage.
Don’t think I’m off topic yet…

May 20, 2018 at 8:08 am #20935I really could not give a fig for the outmoded pageantry of the event, but I wish them both luck & happiness. I have a feeling that she is going to need a lot of luck and political astuteness in order to weather the fascist tendencies of the Establishment.
May 20, 2018 at 9:10 am #20941The wife’s been watching it and I’ve just been listening to the American preacher and the Gospel choir and this image of John Belushi doing handstand cartwheels down the aisle of Windsor Chapel kept flashing through my mind!!! The wife thought I was mad for laughing at that tender moment. Someone should also tell Camilla to hide her face behind a hand because her bemused look was just too much!!:)
You are not alone mate – watched it in a pub garden yesterday and several people said “Blues Brothers” at that point. I really enjoyed it overall – great spectacle.

I saw none of it but the pageantry is part of the entertainment value as such it sounds more inclusive than some ceremonies. I wonder which fascists you are referring to the Guardian lot with Corbyn’s lot or others? The Guardian already had its knives out. The preacher does appear to have garnered some critical acclaim for his performance and caused a wider buzz than many such sermons.
I am still glad I was not on the guest list. No aspect from the whole day out time, the dressing up, the standing about, the finger bowl food, etc. would have been incompatible with our situation.
May 20, 2018 at 12:27 pm #20949So, they say social mobility is dead.
Well, for wossername it looks like she is the master.
As for gingerface. well in my book he is an embarrassment.
Just like the sentiment in the madness song.
May 20, 2018 at 1:02 pm #20951What has Harry done to make you think that way out of interest? I know dressing up as Hitler was’t the cleverest but would suspect most of us have done daft things in youth? Thought he was a fairly well regarded Royal so if I’ve missed anything be interested to learn.
May 20, 2018 at 1:32 pm #20952I am pretty much with you there BL.
May 20, 2018 at 2:49 pm #20955I’ve nothing against him either, he seem a nice bloke, he supports LFC, and he has served, so what’s not to like?
He also seems relatively bright and compassionate about things. (probably from his mother’s side)
May 20, 2018 at 3:02 pm #20956Duke I thought he was a gooner? I know his brother is Villa, and (most importantly) Her Majesty is West Ham – not heard about Harry and LFC – but agree seems a decent bloke to me.
May 20, 2018 at 10:02 pm #20963Well at least they both seem to actually like the round ball game. What I liked about the FA Cup Final, was that the presentation was given to Ray Wilkins’ widow: a nice touch. What I liked about the Royal wedding, was that I didn’t see it. What I didn’t like about the Royal Wedding, is all the continuing stories featured in the media. The BBC website has about a dozen separate stories, all of which say the same krap.
But I have to agree that Harry is not a bad bloke. I just feel sorry for him, waking up one morning in a few years’ time and wondering who this middle-aged bird is lying next to him.

I'm out.May 21, 2018 at 1:23 pm #20968I just assume everyone is… Cos why would they not be. ?
I just have a quick Google, and it seems they can nail a team to all of the Royals except him.
May 21, 2018 at 2:10 pm #20976Bob
” …. I just feel sorry for him, waking up one morning in a few years’ time and wondering who this middle-aged bird is lying next to him …. ” He’s 33 and she 36 – thought you meant Camilla initially!!
PS Some of your postings are getting dangerously close to “Off Topic” – watch it!! ??????

May 21, 2018 at 2:14 pm #20977Lolololol, I say this to my wife most days. She has five on me, so for years I’d tell how much I couldn’t wait till she was an oap, as she will have 10 years of Oap abuse.
If she was to read this, she would point out it’s only 5 years for 5 months. Lol
