That’s what I thought too Jason when I first heard the question but that’s not it.

April 26, 2017 at 9:27 am #6794If you mean the Righteous Brothers for Unchained Melody (there are lots of versions, including Jimmy Young) then I don’t believe any of them were #1 in the USA.
April 26, 2017 at 3:38 pm #6795Unchained Melody has been covered so often by so many artists. Some made No 1 in the USA and some in the UK.
To give folks a clue that may lead to the answer, Stranger on the Shore, could also be added to the list.

April 26, 2017 at 3:40 pm #6797Must admit I had to Google pretty much all of them.
Seeing as no one else has posted one recently, here’s one:-
‘Top of the line in utility sports, Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts!’
It’s stretching things a bit but it’s a song.
April 26, 2017 at 4:31 pm #6799I thought it might be that the song title doesn’t appear in the lyric, but that doesn’t apply to Stranger on the Shore.
April 26, 2017 at 4:45 pm #6801Stranger on the Shore was an instrumental, so it could.

Funnily enough, I was singing this to Ellen earlier ‘Twelve feet long and two lanes wide, 65 tons of American pride’ :yahoo:
April 26, 2017 at 7:24 pm #6808Depends on the version: http://www.metrolyrics.com/stranger-on-the-shore-lyrics-andy-williams.html.

Give that man a Gold Star. He got it quicker than I ever did………oh and a Silver Star to Dave R for confirming the kill. :good:
BTW the lyric’d version of Stranger on the Shore never made No. 1 only the instrumental did.

People say I’m crazy, doing what I’m doing
April 26, 2017 at 9:38 pm #6813Isn’t that a quote from Slaven Bilic?

In a room where ya do what ya don’t confess
Sundown you better take care

Sundown by Gordon Lightfoot. I lent the CD to someone & never got it back.
Pretty little Sally goes walking down the alley
Displays her pretty ankles to all of the men
They could see her garters, but not for free and gratis
An inch or two and then she knows when to say when--
