Hopefully this is a non-contentious political post.
The difference between working for the Government and working in private industry is staggering!
In just twenty-four hours incompetent Greyling has been found to have cost the national purse well over half a billion pounds, and these are only the cases where the responsibility is obvious. I know damned well that if I had cost my old company just the £33 million that has been paid today to Eurotunnel over the Brexit ferry debacle my feet would not have touched the ground when they threw me out of the door.
However, I would probably have gone long before that case or even the ‘smelly’ Seaborne Freight deal. I would not even have been around to screw up the operations of the Railway, which probably cost many £hundreds of millions in direct and consequential costs.
No, all this would have never happened as I would have gone as soon as it was discovered what a pigs-ear I had made of the privatisation of the Probation Service and had to face many weeks of management audit into how it had been possible for me to let contracts that have wasted £0.5 Billion of public funds. That would probably also have opened the door to what I had also mismanaged during my spell at the Dept of Work and Pensions – anyone like to take a bet that he did not have a grubby paw in the design of Universal Credit?
What does it take for May to fire this excuse for a Minister?
March 1, 2019 at 3:35 pm #31246She dare not fire him (or anyone) for fear of favouring leave or remain. Its OK when they jump like bojo but greyling isn’t going to. We are governed by a bunch of fools.
March 1, 2019 at 4:12 pm #31250Unfortunately Greyling is probably the most incompetent Minister (except May) that we have ever had, and it would be difficult to find a Minister with opposite views who balances his degree of lazy incompetence.
March 1, 2019 at 8:44 pm #31266He is just like his freshwater alter ego – “The grayling is a protected species listed in Appendix III of the Bern Convention.”
Never trust an atom - they make up everything !
March 2, 2019 at 11:34 am #31291Come on folks its obvious why she keeps him. His performance is so very bad that it makes her own look better by comparison. Joking aside in reality it does in part shift direct focus away from her which i doubt she would complain about. Yes there’s some reflected discredit on her for keeping him but reflected discredit is nowhere near as bad as direct discredit. One might call it the Amber Rudd Principle yet again.

March 2, 2019 at 11:42 am #31293What you mean like Trump? Make sure something else less damaging to you personally is the story of the day even if it still isn’t exactly edifying or risks world peace. Corbyn seems to have learned how to do the opposite.
March 2, 2019 at 12:23 pm #31296To my embarrassment I see I have misspelt the subject’s name. To protect the innocent Greyling and make certain the correct individual is fired, could an Admin please correct the subject name to Grayling!
March 2, 2019 at 1:05 pm #31300Done ?
Never trust an atom - they make up everything !
March 2, 2019 at 2:25 pm #31302Thanks – the Greylings of the world will I’m sure echo those thanks!
March 2, 2019 at 7:38 pm #31305I would send him to the old bailey where the sentence would be: To Be hung drawn and quartered and his head put on a spike outside buckingham palace.
March 2, 2019 at 8:58 pm #31306That would certainly encourage improved performance in the others!
March 3, 2019 at 7:22 am #31309Keeping Grayling around distracts attention from Dictator May’s bribery, blackmail and corruption.
Arch Linux, on a Ryzen 7 1800X, 32 GB, 5 (yes -5) HDs inc 5 SSDs, 4 RPi 3Bs + 1 RPi 4B - one as an NFS server with two more drives, PiHole (shut yours), Plex server, cloud server, and other random Pi stuff. Nice CoolerMaster case, 2 x NV GTX 1070 8GB, and a whopping 32" AOC 1440P monitor.
March 4, 2019 at 11:57 pm #31348Speaking in the Commons, shadow transport secretary Andy McDonald said: “Even in this golden age of ministerial incompetence, the Transport Secretary stands out from the crowd.

March 6, 2019 at 4:22 pm #31395Well this is The Daily Mash’s take on Grayling:
