      Hi,

Since 2 days ago, everytime I bring up Google or Youtube I am being asked to sign in. I have never signed in before, nor had these messages until 2 days ago. It is very annoying as I am in/out of google and youtube at various times during the day and the message comes up every time ! The google message is below. I click on “agree” and it disappears and I can use google. I am not sure why this has started happening, I have ran malware programme (malwarebytes and spybot) in case it is malware but still happens. I use Firefox and Avast, but as far as I am aware I havent changed any settings. In firefox, options, privacy and security I have always had “delete cookies and site data when firefox is closed” selected. I have tried it with that option not selected, but the messages still appear every time.

Can anyone help me to get rid of these annoying messages? Thanks

The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation is now in force and Websites are now being updated to comply.

The regulation requires that a Website scans your device for all cookies relating to its self when you log in and then warn you if it finds any new ones. The site stores a cookie with the results of the last scan so if you delete cookies when you close a page then any site that uses cookies will belive it has never scanned before and give you that message.

I don’t know if that helps because you say you changed the setting but are you did 😁

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I have put Google and Youtube in the “Manage exceptions” part of privacy/security in Firefox. I thought it had solved the problem, as the messages stopped appearing, but then…every so often one will pop up,but at least its a bit better.
