Today I went to Boston Hospital Urology for a scheduled appointment. This was the result of a really bad period over a week ago, when I spent 48 hours peeing blood, convulsing, looking yellow in the face and being extremely ill. Two GP visits gave me this appointment and I was not looking forward to it, as anyone who has had the camera procedure which inserts the thing into one’s fundamental procreational exit will attest. I have had a similar procedure twice before and was not pleased with the personnel at Lincoln County Hospital, who were an uncaring, grumpy pair of males who would have been better off handling dead meat, which they obviously believed I was.

However, the personnel at Boston were totally different. There was a white Brit nurse and an Asian Brit nurse. The consultant was perhaps of Southern Mediterranean extraction and all three were very good. I actually had them laughing with a quote I cannot reproduce here: thought the lovely Asian lady was needing the loo at one point. The consultant was brilliant at explaining what was happening and gave me a complete tour of the affected works.

The result was that I have no trace of anything nasty in that area, and the blood was solely from my enlarged prostate. This time it had left behind old blood which caused a bladder infection, the cause of my previous illness.

I have now had the final “all clear” on the cancer front and the guy does not want to see me again. Now we can continue with our move. To say I am relieved is this year’s understatement.

              Bob, that’s fantastic news!!!πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸ‘

However, for the great raconteur that you undoubtedly are, I feel that I need to pass on a few tips to you.

When you start a story :-“This was the result of a really bad period over a week ago, ” and proceed to tell of cameras, blood and gore, it all feels like you’ve gone a bit transgenic on us!!!πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚ Next time you have a rant, shall we put it down to PMT??!!

Great news Bob, keep fighting the war. Unfortunatly I’m still in my favourite hotel after 5 weeks with maybe one to go if the microbiologists can sort out some effective antibiotics in tablet form for me to take instead of IV drips 24/7. Back to bird bathing in the sink ex RN style although I do wish my legs were that bit longer if you get my drift.😁😁

When I was in hospital over Christmas they gave me my own room for the last 10 days, complete with ensuite wet room. Still don’t know why I deserved that but it beat hanging over the sink 😁

Bristol Heart Institute – walk in showers 😊 A new specialist hospital, I think that made the diference.

                                  Thanks Guys.

Stevie P, all the best of luck in your present situation. I well remember having ‘bird baths’ whilst hooked up with two sets of drips and associated dangling pipes, cables and stuff. I never did find out what some of it did. That was late ’18 and early ’19 during two after-treatment infections. They sent the first bug samples away, but I never found what it was, perhaps better off not knowing, lol. Second bug was apparently pretty common and they did not isolate me like the first. I feel for you, keep fighting.

BL, gave me a laugh! No change of gender here, just had a quick look and it’s all still there. πŸ˜«πŸ˜‘πŸ˜Š Although going to the loo has been a painful experience since yesterday. As in, peeing iron filings, until the last of the gel makes its way out. How come it has an anaesthetic effect on the way in, but the opposite on the way out? Gritting my teeth a lot.

Graham I was isolated with the same arrangements during the first infection. Nice wet room, everything ensuite. That was Grimsby and I will never hear a word against the place. Food was good, staff all caring and mostly happy, same as all the other stays I have had in that hotel.

Many thanks to all of you, never fail to cheer me up.

I had the same after my camera. I was told to have a full bladder going in, so by the time I was done, I needed to go. Luckily, they were thoughtful enough to put a toilet between the treatment room and waiting room. I went in, started to do my business, then got the iron filings feeling. I let out an involuntary ‘Oh, Jesus Christ!’ along with the accompanying wobbly legs moment, finished up, and left. I opened the door to see a nurse with an amused smirk on her face asking if I was ok. I laughed it off and said that it caught me off guard, and followed her back to the waiting room. She’d gone in to call the next patient, who was now looking terrified after apparently hearing my little outburst πŸ˜€

Sorry JayCeeDee, I was still somewhat under the influence. I have only a vague recollection of driving the 35 miles back from Boston. I do my best driving at those times.

                                        Maybe.
