I was so disappointed when the update (Linux – but the OS is hardly relevant) ditched Live Boomarks. I must be one of the 0.01% (according to Mozilla) that use it, regularly.

If anyone else misses it, to save you the trouble of trying a multitude of AddOns to find one that’s close, I’ll recommend Livemarks. Does the job pretty much identically.

You can thank me later (and you should, I’ve gone through so much carp to find one that is seamless).

Arch Linux, on a Ryzen 7 1800X, 32 GB, 5 (yes -5) HDs inc 5 SSDs, 4 RPi 3Bs + 1 RPi 4B - one as an NFS server with two more drives, PiHole (shut yours), Plex server, cloud server, and other random Pi stuff. Nice CoolerMaster case, 2 x NV GTX 1070 8GB, and a whopping 32" AOC 1440P monitor.

Before the days of bookmark syncing I’d made myself a simple html Web page that I seat to the home page on all my devices. It worked amazingly well.

Not somthing I think about today. Neither is an rss feed. I use my Google now and the Appy news app for that type of stuff. As I’ll usally read all news on my phone rather than a pc screen.

I hadn’t noticed them go to be honest, as my feeds are all dealt with via Feedly (though I’m looking at switching to TinyTinyRSS but it’s not playing nicely on my Synology).

It was driving me nuts. I like my RSS in a live menu in my bookmarks (I don’t use the toolbar, just the menu), and Livemarks is the only one that retains that, as far as I’ve been able to find.

Now, I can see at a glance on the menu the latest brexit fustercluck.

Dan, if you like RSS I recommend Liferea – very easy to set up your own lists of sites, though some are sadly disappearing. I use it to get news feeds from around the world, this makes it easy to see what the Beeb is deliberately not reporting!
