Trendnet TEW-752DRU router
I’m trying to find & thus connect to, a USB thumb drive that I’ve plugged into the router.
The User Guide (page 36) states “You can access these files under your network map or by typing \\routerIPaddress on your File Explorer address bar.” That takes me to the router log in screen. Once logged in there is no mention of a USB connection or file sharing in any of the settings.
What am I missing?

Nope. The router shows under Network Infrastructure & my 3 IP cameras show under Other Devices.
Forgot to say that I have shared all the files & folders on the pen drive.

March 17, 2018 at 7:50 am #17786\\ipaddress in File Explorer shouldn’t take you to the login page for the router. It should take you to the root of the shares (usually the root of the drive). I say that as on my Draytek you can assign a different root folder for each user. This is what happens when I type \\IPAddress of my router (or \\vigor).
Try \\ipaddress\nameofsharedfolder
The shares don’t show up in File Explorer but then neither do the shares on My Synology NAS boxes. The NAS boxes have entries in File Explorer but that either takes you their media streaming service (Media Devices) or their login page (Other Devices).
Over the years I’ve given up the game of getting shares to show in File Explorer and use Add a Network Location (or Map a Drive) for those I access regularly.
March 17, 2018 at 10:03 am #17791I admit that I use a Netgear router with a USB capability and this does appear in file explorer as shown by the big reversed out N.
Are you using ‘\\routerIPaddress’ or \\ipaddress\nameofsharedfolder as Dave suggested?
I did have to turn on the USB readyshare function in the router to allow the DLNA function to exist. Apart from having a brief play I have never actually used it for anything.

That worked. Thanks.

April 24, 2018 at 12:50 am #19977Thanks Dave. No mention of that in any of my searches.
Tried it out earlier & it enters workgroup as the domain name despite being left blank.
