This won’t be what you want but if you go the receiver route then maybe it is.
If you want to go loud then cone area is king.
Some years ago a mate of mine wanted to run a school disco in the assembly hall. He had the decks, mixer and mic from when he was a DJ but no amp or speakers.
I lent him my old Pioneer A400 hifi amp and we scrounged 8 sets of 100W ish stereo speakers. I wired the speakers up with flat twin mains cable which we had to buy.
The speakers were wired series parallel in stacks of 4 giving 8 ohms and then 2 stacks were wired in parallel giving 4 ohms which allowed the A400 to reach its rated power of about 90W per channel. As this is stereo we had speakers in all 4 corners of the hall.
After checking I had phases right and that there were no short circuits we powered up.
We could have blown the bloody doors off had we wanted ?
