Fill a room with music (on the cheap)

I want a set up that can fill a room aprox 30foot by 20foot. Needs to be loud and have Bluetooth.

Basically I want a Google home max duel set up but without the £800ish cost. Also I’m not sure if the Max would be loud enough.

I know there is some audio fans on here so thought I’d farm the idea out.

Is this for the pub Duke – if so I’d recommend a dedicated audio solution with a google home device feeding in to it. A lot of the newer systems a multi-zone so (if the need arose) you could feed different sound sources to different rooms. If you’ve got access to a Richer Sounds be well worth popping in and talking to them. I’m thinking an AV receiver might be what you need as you’d have the option of piping sound from your Sky through it too – but if not then an audio-only solution may be cheaper. The good news is that there is decent gear a-plenty on ebay and elsewhere,  but I reckon you could go “new” and stay within budget.

This won’t be what you want but if you go the receiver route then maybe it is.

If you want to go loud then cone area is king.

Some years ago a mate of mine wanted to run a school disco in the assembly hall. He had the decks, mixer and mic from when he was a DJ but no amp or speakers.

I lent him my old Pioneer A400 hifi amp and we scrounged 8 sets of 100W ish stereo speakers. I wired the speakers up with flat twin mains cable which we had to buy.

The speakers were wired series parallel in stacks of 4 giving 8 ohms and then 2 stacks were wired in parallel giving 4 ohms which allowed the A400 to reach its rated power of about 90W per channel. As this is stereo we had speakers in all 4 corners of the hall.

After checking I had phases right and that there were no short circuits we powered up.

We could have blown the bloody doors off had we wanted ?
