Fax Machine

Yes, fax machine ? Don’t laugh! How ever I have dragged mine out off moth balls as it will come in handy once in a blue moon. How ever I know of no one else who as one. Does any one here have access to one to test mine out?

Most printers come with fax emulation software, but I’ve never installed it. Give me 10 minutes and I’ll see if it’s straightforward or a pita.

 

Edit – Thinking about it, my answerphone etc will probably get in the way, but I’ll give it a try.

 

@bdthree – it’s telling me I need a fax modem and I don’t have one installed. Sorry.

Yes I thought it would do that but was not sure has it’s been an age since I have dabbled with this stuff. Library is at the bottom of my street. May just nip down there if nowt turns up here.

If you’ve got an old modem and another phone line you can send one to yourself, but I’ve got a feeling that you may be out of luck.

There are services that let you fax online, and receive a fax from a real fax machine, so they may be worth a try. This one’s got a free trial, but obviously I’ve never used them.
