It was women against girls: England won at a canter, 4 – 0. Should have been a lot more, Bosnian girls throwing themselves in the way of every shot from England women.

Disappointed though, always am at women’s football. They don’t swop shirts….?

Conversation when I walked out of this room and into the lounge:

Me: “England won 4-nil.” SWMBO: ” ‘Course they did, it was England women, not the men!”

There is a proper answer to that. I didn’t make it.

I find the women’s game more entertaining than the men’s game. Their passing is superb and there are no histrionics. If someone goes down they are in need of help. Thoroughly enjoyed it and looking forward to Tuesday’s match

Amen to that. They play as if they all want the ball and they intercept better than the male team: a feature of not being able to tackle robustly I think, but it works much better. Perhaps the men’s team should study their play? How about a female coach – a really strict matronly figure should sort them out!

Much slower game so more emphasis on passing. I’m sure the men could pass just as well.

It’s not an apples to apple comparison.

Though I have nothing against the women’s England team. I’d give them more time than the men’s team. I already support one team that forever promises but always fails. I can’t support two teams like that.

Atleast Liverpool plays eye catching football (good and bad),  England plays cold catching football.

Anyone see the Everton turn out on Thursday. Must of been 1/4 full. The stats won’t back that up, as the fans need to buy the tickets to get the next tickets (that’s how footy works), and attendance is based on tickets sold not, bums on seats. Come 80 mins I’d be amazed if 2000 people was still in wooderson.
