I have always thought that the UK version of ‘democracy’ was a Dictatorship that was elected for a specific time period, the duration within which was up to the current dictator.. It looks quite possible that within the next few weeks this viewpoint may be put to the test!
July 7, 2022 at 10:34 am #69706It seems he’s going and has graciously said he’ll stay until a successor is elected. He also wants to introduce new policy though!
FFS
But it seems that he will have no ministers, so don’t know how that will work.
July 7, 2022 at 2:31 pm #69709Not elected by the General Public however – so we will have an UNelected Dictator!
July 7, 2022 at 3:53 pm #69713Its a black day alright.
July 7, 2022 at 5:21 pm #69714You will recall I did say he needs to go maybe one month ago.
But stop and think a little. Here we have a PM who was silly (Yes, just silly and stupid), silly to allow the lock down parties and stupid for blathering about it later. And now he is forced out.
In another place (no, I don’t mean the H of Ls) there is a President who has effectively brainwashed his population (and my wife) with a parade of lies through his controlled media for many years. He has taken the “Federation” to war, sorry, on a little special operation because of all those Nazis in and around Kiev. According to Tamara before it all started, more than half of the population wanted a union with Russia. See the brainwashing? The area to the East was most heavily pro-Russian, but where has all the carnage taken place?
Now consider the situations in context. Our silly leader had a birthday party etc.. Silly and Stupid.
At least our silly b***er will not end up in a Nuremburg style court, present or in absentia!

July 7, 2022 at 10:48 pm #69716Well, he made no friends with that speech. Somebody needs to tell the spoilt brat that government needs to continue, so get out of the way, re-instate all the people who resigned in order to get the message across to those who’d cocked a deaf’un, because they can do their job better than a new recruit.
If there’s any rules that need changing it should be to re-introduce to the government all the people who lost to Boris on his way up, because history has shown that they were better than this idiot – Rory Stewart immediately comes to mind, but the same logic would put Jeremy Hunt to the fore, so maybe that logic is flawed!!
Thoughts??
July 8, 2022 at 6:23 pm #69722Les, it’s not just the parties is it? If that was all it was I’d agree with you to some extent.
When anyone thinks it was just a drinky poo after work, remember that picture of the Queen at Philip’s funeral, then remember what was going on in #10 at the time. Wine up the wall, puke in the waste baskets and the staff treated like underlings. That’s the culture HE allowed to prosper. Could you imagine that happening with any other PM? Also remember people not allowed to visit dying relatives, nor attend their grave side, God forbid a wake.
It’s because he’s an incompetent narcissistic serial liar who ends up destroying anything and everything he touches. When things go wrong he blames anyone but himself, when they go right he takes all the plaudits. Of course he is better than Putin, but that’s a very low bar and he’s far from the best we have, God help us if he was. Like Putin he surrounds himself with Yes men who’s job depends on sucking up to him. Anyone with any talent is kept well away.
History is not going to be kind to him, nor his predecessors. What a fecking mess this country is in, not just financially but divided, quite deliberately, with false culture wars, all to keep him from scrutiny. He has run rough shod over UK law and our constitution, even lying to the Queen.
If he had been around for much longer he was going to do the same Internationally over a treaty he came up with, sold to the country as “oven ready” (even though he was warned fully about the issues) and had ratified by Parliament. The “United” Kingdom is rapidly falling apart. It seems inevitable now that Scotland and NI will go their own way. Then there’s international conventions on Human Rights and treating people worse off than you as human beings and not some scum to be left to rot or drown or shipped anywhere we please. Free journalism is under attack and voting is being suppressed. Pork Barrel politics is back under the guise of “Levelling Up”.
It’s not just a few parties is it?
July 8, 2022 at 8:28 pm #69723He is an unabashed liar, who will convincingly say anything that will achieve his ends.
He lied in school, he lied as a Journalist and was sacked for it, he lied almost continuously during his Brexit campaign, he then lied as Foreign Minister and during his manoeuvres to oust Therasa May, he then lied over his General Election promises, and lied to convince the DUP over no border in the Irish Sea, he lied almost continuously during his tenure as PM. Even his ‘success’ at Covid vaccination was no success when compared against other countries The UK has twice the number of excess deaths than is the case in France, Sweden etc. Admittedly the US and Russia are worse, but really that does not say much!

July 9, 2022 at 6:02 pm #69736Dave, I absolutely agree with every word of your first three paragraphs. After that some differences.
As I said a while back, he has overstayed his time. BUT, until he was able to take Corbin by the throat (metaphorically), the country was in stasis. Whatever you views, a UK referendum had come to a decision, and every leftist dickhead jumped out of the woodwork to complain. You may recall there were complaints about the then speaker which SHOULD have meant suspension and investigation, but all the dickheads said “Don’t worry about that” in order that he could continue with his “unbiased” control of parliament.
My main point was a comparison with another “leader”, who will NOT be removed as a result of his blatant warmongering and obvious war crime record in other countries besides Ukraine.
Compared with that crap, we are lucky to have had a relative Saint in the shape of Boris.
As I said after Teresa May departed, we want Boris, but get rid of him after one year. We took rather longer than the one year.
Les.
