Yes using the phrase Scumbags no doubt goes against my own rules “So Ban Me” !

I hate eBay, always have. No seller protection what so ever. I would love to be the one in the UK who could start a one day boycott between sellers to stick it to eBay.

I sold 3 laptops about a month ago. 2 sales was all fine and dandy, happy buyers. But one twat claimed his laptop would not boot “No Hardrive” at boot screen and so on. Only thing I could think of was it had some how however unlikely come loose in transit. I explained this to him and that he had 2 options, check the HDD is in place or return it for a full refund including postage. He refused this and demanded a full refund before he would even send the laptop back. I refused that as I was getting suspicious by now with his demands and attitude.

1 month passes and he raises a case with eBay. The usually shit happens, eBay hold funds in paypal until I receive the laptop back. Anyway a week and half to two weeks later the laptop comes back rapped in the flimsy cardboard. It is also minus a charger and the original ssd that was with it when I shipped it out.

So as you can imagine by this time I am ready to do time, life!

eBay appear to show no interest what so ever and getstuffedpal are as useful as ever. The cheeky twat had the nerve to leave me bad feedback aswell.

I am at the point now were I have to think to my self do I just let it go and give eBay a wide birth or should I begin my revenge campaign on this guy.

I was thinking of starting out gently. Open a tor browser and find an exit node in the UK. Open some email accounts in his name and opening a just-eat account in his name and well you get the rest.

I wouldn’t bother with just-eat, I’d go straight to the porn sites and register him all over them. There’s likely to be more nasties for the unwary on them. Just hope he clicks some unsavoury and dangerous links!!

That is the dark side of ebay. I’ve sold loads of stuff on ebay in the recent months. The best seller were lightly used shoes for £5 to £10 less than what I paid for them new 😀 Sold car bits that before I would have just throw in the bin. Books, records, everything sold. Made hundreds of £££ this Summer selling my junk and to my surprise not a single problem. But I was posting everything unregistered expecting a problem every time and was ready to just make an instant refund and not worry about it. In the process of all this I discovered a very easy way to make £20-50 a week reselling a certain item I buy in sets on ebay. I triple my money and each item is about £20 profit so no sending many packages for minuscule profits 😀 And I post them unregistered ready every time for some one to claim theirs haven’t arrived. But I would not want to be the one selling more expensive items for a smaller profit…

I can not believe this, I am truly shocked!

We’ve reviewed your concerns and have reversed the outcome of the case. Within 48 hours, we’ll credit the PayPal account used to provide reimbursement for this case.

Because we decided in your favour, this case, any feedback left, and all detailed seller ratings left, will not affect your seller performance. In addition, any feedback left for this transaction will be removed.

If you have other questions, please contact us. You can reach us by going to the eBay website and clicking “Help & Contact” in the upper right corner and then selecting “Contact eBay.”

Maybe he pulled a few more scams. Is he still a registered user?

This is what get’s me. A registered user since 2000, 600 + good feedback as buyer and so he must know how eBay works. Had he done as I requested sent the laptop back for a full refund all would of been well as long as it had come back with the charger! I can not see anything in his history to suggest he has done this before however like this case all feedback and responses etc… as been pulled so maybe he has pulled the trick before, very strange indeed. Mind, I did have the bit between my teeth and went on an all out assault from every angle, phone, twitter, fb email, forms and so on 🙂

But all said and done, they came through this time. Its only taken 12 years to get a result from ebay.

I don’t sell through them any more after bad experiences. I pulled an expensive item the day before it ended as no bids. Someone complained and E-Bay accused me of trying to sell goods I didn’t have and banned me from PayPal. The person who complained bought loads of other stuff on sale at the same time and said to me he’d been daft not to just put a fiver on it earlier.

Mind you had he done so Tim was waiting in the wings in Spain to make sure it didn’t go for that ?

Tim always pays up lively too! Thank goodness for friends like him eh? 🙂

I have a load of stuff to shift and a few people I know have told me to use facebook market – don’t like the look of it but they swear by it. May have a tilt when I finish work next year – one of my pals cleared over a grand in a month on facebook – all done face to face for cash – and no come back on any of it. As I say don’t like the sound of it but will dip my toe in the water when I have a little more time on my hands (soon enough!).

FB Market for me is fine, you can expand from Local to wider areas if necessary. I have sold stuff locally, have people come to the house but ask for ID to be shown at the door, its Sheltered Housing. Some stuff does not move, if it’s Low Return I give it to charity. EG: I have an Aiwa HiFi sytem, which I advertised very cheaply to move it and create space, no takers apart from one who wanted to give me £5 and another who never returned. Might give to a relative.

This thing records to and from everything: vinyl, CD, Cassette, USB, but the quality is only good enough for 128 Kbps and MP3, which is OK for other formats but not vinyl. I have tried recording at highest 256 setting, but it will not set up in vinyl and does not match my expectations at home or in car. Sound is muffled and Audacity cannot improve it.

I am soon to hit FB Market with a load of stuff, might also put it on here in the classifieds, just remembered that! High Value stuff I will P&P, but Low Value stuff will be economically better collected. Gumtree has become economically impossible for me and Ebay is a minefield. Never had a problem buying, but struggled with some sales.

When the Thought Police arrive at your door, think -
                        I'm out.

I’ve used Facebook Market reasonably successfully in the past to shift some stuff, but it seems to have a lot of Choosing Beggars on it… (see Reddit to see what I mean!)
