Putting aside the US-centric nature of the video I would agree with much of what is said. Our Kia E-Niro does however show a brake light when regenerative braking cuts in. It stops pretty fiercely in that situation and could take an old petrol or diesel car by surprise.

We have not been to Porlock for a long time and it would be interesting to see howEVs or Hybrids behave going down that really long steep hill.

Hello all, I’ve got an ionic hybrid these days, about 18 months, and I’ve noticed, when using Regen, the brake lights don’t come one.

It was a friend of mine that borrowed my car that brought it up, so I tested it down my country lanes one night, keeping an eye on the reflective signs behind me.

I was quite amazed Regen doesn’t apply the lights, as in level 3 Regen it’s quite sharp the breaking. So pretty dangerous. Luckily I hardly have Regen on, have it on zero, as I like to coast, and in testing I get better mpg.

Belting mpg on the ionic, gets a solid 65mpg in the warmer months and 58 through the winter. I got it just in time for the price hikes.

I try to keep an extra eye out for number plates with the green bar on the left, and give them extra room accordingly, however, there are a huge number of EV’s and Hybrids that haven’t opted for them so you can still get caught out.

Hiya Steve – good to see you’re still around!!👍👍😀
