I was on ebay and saw a link for a half price 12 month subsription to Computer Active. I took a fancy to that and followed the link.
I paid with paypal and did recieve a receipt from Dennis.
No other communication, up to yet the money hasn’t left paypal. I tried to contact Dennis to see when I start receiving the mag The contact is dead and came back.
To contact Dennis via the subscription form you need a customer number, I don’t have one so can’t contact.
The money now seems to have left paypal.
I am getting a little concerned as it was a link on ebay, but then I don’t know how subscriptions work and can’t seem to contact Dennis.
Any idea’s info welcome, when is the mag due to publish.
Cheers

January 13, 2018 at 12:20 pm #15625Thanks Ed, I phoned.
This is the trouble these days contacting by phone.
High volume of calls long wait time or try calling us back.
I continued to hold for 10 mins but can’t afford to wait any longer.I guess I am just going to have to hope I get my mag in the next 2 weeks.
Cheers
JohnJanuary 13, 2018 at 12:53 pm #15629If you Googled as I suggested you would also have seen their email contact in addition to the 0330 phone number.
January 13, 2018 at 1:51 pm #15639Tbh CA is very basic and more aimed at -advertising- reviewing products.
It’s not for the computing enthusiast, its like the entry-level mag you read then move up to mm once you outgrow it.
January 13, 2018 at 3:04 pm #15643I quite like CA. I don’t totally agree with The Duke but I see his point. There are so few computer magazines left nowadays that I subscribe for the news it contains rather than specific articles. Yes there are reviews but what computer magazine did not have reviews. I also like the fixits at the end as I do find them quite interesting.
The latest issue is 519 and covers 17-30 January and was delivered on Friday. Subscribers always get then early.
January 13, 2018 at 3:45 pm #15648Bought CAonce, disliked it, but I was probably spoiled by my first weekly computer mag: MM of course. I occasionally bought PC Advisor at first, then realised that MM was much more interactive and gave as much if not more, for a lot less outlay, although not as shiny! What was not contained within MM pages, could be discovered from contributors. Some of whom are still with us here on Forumite, occasionally. IMO, there is no substitute and will never be a replacement.

I'm out.January 13, 2018 at 4:04 pm #15649Unfortunately it went to the wall and is no longer with us. Great pity I know but CA is still with us.
January 13, 2018 at 8:27 pm #15662Ed I have previously emailed the same as your link, they say we’ll get back to you, not got back to me yet.
Talking about MM I had a probe it’s well and truly gone, even the redirect to here.
I just hope it starts arriving one day, otherwise I have a battle on my hands.
Cheers
